Describe one neurodevelopmental disorder and one neurocognitive disorder.

Write a 1,500- to 1,750-word paper on the following:

  • Describe one neurodevelopmental disorder and one neurocognitive disorder.
  • Discuss behavioral criteria for each disorder.
  • Discuss incidence rates and causes for each disorder.
  • Propose two options for treatment for each disorder, based on two different theoretical models.

Format your paper consistent with APA guidelines.

Why does an aggregate demand curve slope downward? Briefly explain.

Please read chapters 5&6 and answer the following questions:

1- ) The National Bureau of Economic Research maintains a Web page devoted to business cycle expansions and contractions at http://www.nber.org/cycles.html. Please take a look at this page to see if you can determine how the business cycle has been changing in recent decades. Has the overall length of cycles been changing? Have recessions been getting longer or shorter?

2- ) Please review the Summary of Commentary on Current Economic Conditions by Federal Reserve District (Beige Book), available through the Federal Reserve System at  http://www.federalreserve.gov/monetarypolicy/beigebook/beigebook201409.htm Summarize the national economic conditions for the most recent period covered in the report. Overall, is the economy healthy? If not, what problems is it experiencing?

3- ) (Economic Fluctuations) Describe the various components of fluctuations in economy activity over time. Because economic activity fluctuates, how is long-term growth possible?

4- ) (Aggregate Demand and Supply) Determine whether each of the following would cause a shift of the aggregate demand curve, a shift of the aggregate supply curve, neither, or both.  Which curve shifts, and in which direction? What happens to aggregate output and the price level in each case?

  1. The price level changes
  2. Consumer confidence declines
  3. The supply of resources increases
  4. The wage rate increases

5- ) One supply-side measure introduced by the Reagan administration was a cut in income tax rates. Use an aggregate demand/aggregate supply diagram to show what effect was intended. What might happen if such a tax cut also shifted the aggregate demand curve?

6- ) How are economic fluctuations linked among national economies?  Could a recession in the United States trigger a recession abroad?

7-) What is the relationship between demand-side economics and the federal budget deficit? Briefly explain.

😎 Why does an aggregate demand curve slope downward? Briefly explain.

9-) Is it possible for the price level fall (deflation) while production and employment both rise? (Hint: Use AD-AS Model)

10-) Why do economists pay attention total employment, price level and growth? Briefly discuss.

Chapter 6 questions:

  1. How does the income approach to measuring GDP differ from the expenditure approach? Explain the meaning of value addedand its importance in the income approach. Consider the following data for the selling price at each stage in the production of a five-pound bag of flour sold by your local grocer. Calculate the final market value of the flour.

Stage of Production    Sale Price

Farmer:            $0.30

Miller:              $0.50

Wholesaler:     $1.00

Grocer:            $1.50

  1. Given the following annual information about a hypothetical country, answer questions a and b:

Personal consumption expenditures:   $200

Personal taxes: 50

Exports: 30

Government purchases: 50

Gross private domestic investment: 40

Imports: 40

Government transfer payments: 20

  1. What is the value of GDP?

    b.      What is the value of net exports?

  2. What are the leakages from and injections into the circular flow? How are leakages and injections related in the circular flow?
  3. One often-heard criticism of the U.S. national income accounts is that they ignore the effect of environmental pollution. The World Bank’s group on Environmental Economics and Indicators has been investigating ways of assessing environmental degradation. Pleasetake a look at the World Bank’s work on “green accounting” at  http://web.worldbank.org/WBSITE/EXTERNAL/TOPICS/ENVIRONMENT/EXTEEI/0,,contentMDK:20487830~menuPK:1187769~pagePK:148956~piPK:216618~theSitePK:408050,00.htmlBriefly discuss what kinds of problems the World Bank has identified, and what proposals it has made to deal with those problems?

    15. Identify the component of aggregate expenditure to which each of the following belongs:

    a. A US resident’s purchase a new car manufactured in Japan.

    b. Construction of a new house

    c. A city government’s acquisition of 10 new police cars

    d. An increase in semiconductor inventories over last year’s level

    16. Suppose US economy is in a deep recession. How does this recession affect the US major trading partners such as Canada, China, Japan, etc? Briefly discuss.

  1. Using supply-demand analysis, briefly discuss the future of the real estate market in Los Angeles. (Hint: What do you think about the future price? Bubble? The possibility of burst? If so, when?) (write a short essay)

Describe the problem faced by Vlasic. Why were they unable to oppose the sales plan put forth by Wal-Mart?

Read the following article. Consider its subject matter and do a little extra research on this subject. Answer the discussion questions below.

Describe the problem faced by Vlasic. Why were they unable to oppose the sales plan put forth by Wal-Mart? Ultimately, how did responding to Wal-Mart affect their business?
Was this an ethical supply chain decision on the part of Wal-Mart? Also, highlight any sustainable ethics that was involved here.
What does this case tell you about how much influence a business can have with regard to its suppliers’ decisions and behaviors? What does this say about the conventional notions of the responsibility of firms for the practices of their suppliers (both in terms of individual firms and collectively)? Is it reasonable for consumers (or even regulators) to hold firms accountable?

How will you handle the OSHA inspector should one show up in the next few hours?

The Situation: You are the EH&S professional at your company’s shipyard. You have just received a call from a production supervisor that there has been a very serious near miss accident out in the assembly area. Your company is manufacturing the second Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) for the US Navy. This new generation high speed, trimaran design warship has been designed to carry out a wide range of tactical, combat, and support operations in the near-shore (littoral) environment. The project is over budget and has received a considerable amount of criticism for it. Successful completion of the project at this phase will be a prime determinant in whether or not your company can secure the very lucrative follow-up contracts for more LCSs. Everyone in the shipyard feels the pressure to complete this project ASAP.

Apparently a very large 20-ton overhead crane had some cables snap and has partially collapsed while trying to hoist a large section of the vessel into place for its final welding operation. When you arrive on scene, you see the section wedged overhead between some support beams and walkways. About a dozen hourly workers are scattered about as they leaped to safety after hearing the cables snap. There are many bumps, bruises and scratches on the workers, but they all are able to be treated internally at your nurse’s office. In this initial assessment, there appears to be no need for or request on the part of the employees to go to any outside medical consultant or hospital emergency room.

Almost immediately, you can hear the men complaining that the first attempt to lift the unit did not work, and the production engineer has decided to “jury rig” some extra cables to lift the unit into place. In addition, one individual said that they were trying to hoist about 28-30 tons, and that was just too much for the old crane. Another offered that the cables themselves had not been changed out in a couple of years, and that was against OSHA regulations. Everyone said that they could hear the unit groan and screech before the cables snapped and the crane partially collapsed.

Before you walk off with the supervisors to inspect the damage, one of the workers offers the opinion that this is an “imminent danger” situation. About 30 minutes later, you are meeting with the engineers and supervisors on one of the overhead platforms continuing your inspection of the damage when a supervisor comes up and tells you that he has heard that an hourly employee has just called OSHA and told them of the situation and that they used the term “imminent danger” in their conversation.

The Questions: What are your most important concerns? What should you do next? What information is the most critical for you to have right away? What directions would you give to the supervisors and engineers? When should you inform your facility manager, and what should you tell him/her? Should you meet with the hourly employees? What will you discuss with them? How will you handle the OSHA inspector should one show up in the next few hours?

Discuss a sequential Action Plan on your part that addresses all of the issues presented.
