Identify the Area of Specialization being described for each Topic of Studylisted.

Psychology is a very broad subject that encompasses many areas of specialization. Psychologists have diverse interests and occupations. Many psychologists are involved in specific areas of research, other psychologists are primarily educators, and some psychologists specialize in the helping professions. Psychology offers many interesting career paths. In this assignment, you will explore eight areas of specialization in psychology.

Instructions

Complete the What Psychologists Do…Areas of Specialization worksheet.

  1. Identify the Area of Specialization being described for each Topic of Studylisted(Use the Area of Specialization list provided.)
  2. Identify the Key Focus of This Area of Specialization.
  3. Use the last column to identify which setting(s) a psychologist in this specialization may work.

Do you think human-made or natural compounds are more responsible for causing cancers?

For your Week 5 initial post, please visit the American Cancer Society homepage. Go to www.cancer.org and on the home page, click on the arrow under the section, “Learn About Cancer”. There is a list of numerous types of cancers.  Please select one form of Cancer from the list AND that has NOT been posted on by another student (or one of your own from another site or from personal experience).

In your initial post, title it with the specific type of cancer you will be discussing. Each student is required to write their own initial post on one specific type of cancer – no duplicate topic posts are permitted.  One type of cancer per student – this increases the variety of topics to discuss. Research the particular type of cancer you chose and make sure to address and talk about the following questions in your initial post: Which part of the body does the cancer affect? What are some warning signs? Are there any treatments? Approximately how many people are affected with this type of cancer? Are certain people more at risk than others? Is it more prevalent in certain areas of the world?

Also, in your initial discussion post, please respond to the following questions: What are your thoughts about cancer in general? Does it seem that there are more cases of it in today’s society? If so, why might this be the case? Do you think human-made or natural compounds are more responsible for causing cancers? Why is cancer considered to be a failure of the immune system? Do you have any personal experience of knowing someone with cancer? Would you like to share your personal experiences with cancer?

paper must be in APA FORMAT.   NO LESS THAN 250 WORDS AND NO MORE THAN 400………..PLEASE DO NOT USE OVARIAN,PANCREATIC,PROSTATE OR BONE CANCER

Present the elements of quantitative and qualitative and describe how these compliment each other and why it is important to conduct this research as a mixed methods design.

Your research question may or may not be appropriately answered using a Mixed methodology model. In this assignment you will apply what you have learned about mixed methodology from the readings and the Assignment 1 discussion to your own research question. If your research question is best answered using Mixed methodology, stick with it and complete the critique below. If not, how might you alter your question so that it may be answered using mixed methodology? Although research is driven by questions, for this assignment we are going to turn it around so we may explore the benefits and differences of various types of methodologies. Adjust your question to fit a mixed methods design and complete the critique below.

For Example: In assignments M4A2 and M5A2 you may have had to change your research question so that it should be answered using a different design. The example questions included, “What are the perceptions of students regarding their experiences with faculty mentors”, best answered using qualitative research, and “What types of interactions do students value most with their faculty mentors?”, best answered using quantitative research.

Both of the questions would produce information about the topic of effective mentoring of graduate students. In a mixed methods design there is value and need to gather both quantitative and qualitative data. In this case the qualitative interviews could help provide not only greater insight into the results of the quantitative data, but could provide necessary information if the final goal was to help faculty understand their students’ needs. Note that the mixed methods researcher must determine whether concurrent or sequential data collection will best suit the purposes of the study.  (See Creswell, Chapter on Mixed Methods Procedures: Timing)

complete the following research critique for the Mixed methods research you propose.

  1. Research Topic:

  • Specific Research Questions:
  • Hypotheses:
  • Procedure: (How was the data collected? What was the sampling strategy used?)
  • Variables/Concepts:
  • Instrument(s) analysis:
  • Data analysis: Discuss the statistical software, if any, used in analysis of the data and the type of analyses included.
  • Consent: What type of consent, if any, will be obtained from the participants?

Question 2

Bronwyn recently purchased a cafe from Espresso Pty Ltd. As part of the negotiations, Tony the Chief Financial Officer of Espresso sent emails to Bronwyn making representations both in relation to the profit in the previous financial year and projected profitability of the cafe for the next 3 years. However, subsequent investigation of the historical accounts revealed that the figures for the previous financial year were grossly overstated and the projections were arguably fanciful numbers concocted by Tony, in order to induce Bronwyn to purchase the cafe. Furthermore, after having now operated the cafe for a period of six months, Bronwyn has realised that the information contained in the emails from Tony were in fact false (this has been established by the discovery of a series of source documents which were located on the premises in a locked cabinet).

Required

Advise Bronwyn of what rights and remedies might be available to her as a result of the conduct of Espresso Pty Ltd and Tony under the consumer protection provisions of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) (CCA) and as found in the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) in Schedule 2 of the CCA.

Note: In your answer you are required to discuss relevant sections of the Australian Consumer Law and the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) and related case law, as appropriate.

Discuss the role of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) in relation to Bronwyn seeking to enforce her rights and secure remedies which you have identified in part (a) of this question.
Question 3

‘The whole point of the move from the centralised system of bargaining at the enterprise level was to get employers and unions dealing with each other face-to-face and responding to their workplace’s particular circumstances, rather than the old game of unions pulling on a strike to oblige the referee to intervene and impose a compromise.’

Discuss the above statement with respect to the functions and purpose of  the Australian Fair Work Commission. In light of the above statement, comment on the strategies adopted by the company you analysed in Question 1 to managing the employment relationship.

**Words of Advice**
Your research papers are to be prepared in APA format, and as such should include:
1. 1” margins all around
2. Title page centered horizontally and vertically
3. Abstract – second page – a brief summary of your findings
4. References within the document in APA format (NOT footnotes, but author and year in parenthesis).

APA Format for References (fictitious samples, to show you the format):
For a professional journal article (as it would appear in the bibliography – alphabetically by author last name):
Freud, S. (1933). The interpretation of dreams. Journal of Clinical Psychology, 5(2), 144-148.
For a book:
Erikson, E. (1958). Psychological and social development through the lifespan. (pp. 104-155). New York, NY: Hardcourt Brace.
In-paper citations (using these two examples). Paraphrase the information, ending with the citation:
“For many adults, unresolved issues from childhood may show up in the latent content of their dreams, when interpreted from
a psychoanalytic point of view (Freud, 1933). In other cases, the difficulties may have more to do with their age and stage of
development. In later adulthood, conflicts may arise from career difficulties, and the feeling that it has become too late to
make major life changes (Erikson, 1958).”
Your paper should address the following:
1. Give a brief background of the subject or problem.
2. What is the significance of this topic/problem? Why is it important for people to understand? What areas of mental or
physical health may it have an impact on?
3. What is already known about this topic/problem?
