After the Civil War, the United States became a much more industrialized society. Between 1865 and 1920, industrialization improved American life in many ways. However, industrialization also created problems for American society. Consider events that took place after the Civil War and discuss ways that industrialization affected the U.S. between 1865 and 1920.

Part 1:

1. Write a thesis statement that is one to two (1-2) sentences long in which you:
   1. State your thesis on how industrialization after the Civil War influenced U.S. society, economy, and politics. Justify your response.

For the first part of this assignment you will create a thesis statement. A thesis statement is usually a single sentence somewhere in your first paragraph that presents your main idea to the reader. The body of the essay organizes the material you gather and present in support of your main idea. Keep in mind that a thesis is an interpretation of a question or subject, not the subject itself. 2. Write a one to two (1-2) page outline in which you:
   1. List three (3) major aspects of industrialization between 1865 and 1920.  In your response, consider society, the economy, and politics.
   2. List five (5) specific groups that were affected by industrialization. Provide two (2) examples for each group describing how the group was affected. (Consider issues such as race, ethnicity, gender, child labor, etc.)
   3. List five (5) ways that industrialization affected the life of the average working American during this period.
   4. Use at least three (3) academic references besides or in addition to the textbook. Note: Wikipedia and other Websites do not qualify as academic resources.

• Visualize three (3) patient issues that may arise as a result of implementing an electronic record that can be easily transferred from clinic to physician. Next, propose a plan to proactively address any one (1) of the patient issues that you identified. Justify your response.

Find a publicly-traded company using a financial information website. Some example companies include the following:

• Safeway Inc.
• The Boeing Company
• General Motors Company
• Intel Corporation
• Microsoft Corporation
• Exxon Mobil Corporation

Watch the Industry Averages and Financial Ratios video and use the industry classification from the financial services website to locate the company’s SIC code on the U.S. Department of Labor’s website.

Find the industry ratios for the company using the Dun & Bradstreet^® Key Business Ratios.

If your company’s SIC code does not appear in the dropdown menu, choose another company.

Assume the inventory ratio is based on a traditional inventory system, but globalized markets and the supply chain make it critical to adopt lean principles to create a more efficient system.

Calculate the 14 ratios (show your calculations) for the company using the two most recent annual financial statements found on the financial information website you used earlier. Be careful not to use quarterly information, and include ratios for both years.

Compare the ratios for the company you selected with the appropriate industry ratios including profitability, solvency, and efficiency ratios shown on the Dun & Bradstreet^® report.

As from the name, DFD is a diagram that reflects the flow of information while the second is a process. That process can be represented by multiple diagrams and tools. In other words, DFD is a tool that is part of data process model.
