Explain why it is important to define short-term and long-term goals. Identify resources that you might use to help you define your organizational goals.

For the Final Project, you will develop a strategic plan for a new non-profit or existing government organization. As you finalize your Final Project, be sure to incorporate any feedback that you have received from your Instructor and your colleagues, as a well-developed strategic plan can help support an organization in achieving its goals.

To complete the Final Project, you will write a paper that addresses the following:

  1. Creating an Organization (Week 3)
    • Create a new non-profit organization with a global presence or identify a government organization at the local, state, or national level that works with multiple stakeholders.
    • Develop and explain the organization’s mission, values, and strategic initiatives.
    • Identify organizational stakeholders and conduct a stakeholder analysis.
  2. Analyzing Organizations (Week 5)
    • Conduct a SWOT or Appreciative Inquiry (AI) analysis.
    • Evaluate the organization from multiple sustainable perspectives, including financial considerations, positive community outcomes, and innovation.
  3. Strategic Goals (Week 7)
    • Develop 2–3 short-term goals (1–4 years) for the organization. Identify challenges that might impact these goals and explain how the organization might overcome them.
    • Develop 2–3 long-term goals (15–20 years) for the organization. Identify long-term trends (i.e., social, political, demographic, economic, ecological, technological, etc.) that might impact these goals.
    • Explain why it is important to define short-term and long-term goals. Identify resources that you might use to help you define your organizational goals.
  4. Final Paper (Week 10)

Evaluate what Jefferson’s future might have been if he were being raised in the U.S. in the 1940s.

When new parents are expecting a baby, they rarely consider the possibility that the baby could have significant challenges. For those who have children with severe, multiple disabilities, planning for the future is a critical, lifelong process and requires considerable investments of time and effort, while potentially causing significant stress to the parents. With advances in our understanding, there are many more resources available to children and families than there were previously.

Review the following scenario:

Jefferson is a six-year-old boy in kindergarten. He has suffered from cerebral palsy and a severe seizure disorder since he was an infant, resulting in significant physical and cognitive impairment. Although he has received services and support through early childhood intervention (ECI) services, as he enters formal schooling, his parents have become increasingly concerned about his future. Jefferson spends most of his time in a wheelchair and uses a special touchscreen augmentative communication device. In addition to their concerns about the future, Jefferson’s father also harbors considerable guilt that he or his wife might have caused their son’s disabilities.

Using the module readings and at least one peer-reviewed article from the Argosy University online library resources or a reputable organization, research traumatic brain injuries.

Based on your research, respond to the following:

  • Summarize research related to the influence of nature versus nurture on the cause of Jefferson’s disabilities.
  • Provide a hypothesis of Jefferson’s likely prognosis. What supports or services might maximize this outcome?
  • Evaluate what Jefferson’s future might have been if he were being raised in the U.S. in the 1940s.

Write a 3–5-page paper in Word format (not counting the title and reference pages). Apply APA standards to citation of sources. Be sure to include a title page and reference page, also in APA format.

Explain the incidence of exceptionality in children, including known causes or those hypothesized in peer-reviewed research.

Assignment 1: LASA 2—Exceptionality Presentation

In this course, you have learned about a range of exceptionalities in children. For this assignment, you will have the opportunity to gain a more in-depth understanding of a particular exceptionality.

The local public school has asked you to give a presentation to parents or teachers about a specific exceptionality of your choice.

The presentation should cover at least two peer-reviewed articles. Select an exceptionality for this assignment and provide the following information in your presentation:

  • Describe the exceptionality, including its identification and assessment.
  • Explain the incidence of exceptionality in children, including known causes or those hypothesized in peer-reviewed research.
  • Describe the cultural considerations in identification, assessment, and intervention.
  • Hypothesize the prognosis.
  • Recommend interventions for the following areas:
    • At school
    • In the community
    • At home
    • From early childhood through transition into adulthood

While developing the presentation, keep in mind individual differences and strengths, culturally and linguistically diverse populations, and ethical or legal issues in identification, assessment, and intervention. Be sure to include detailed speaker notes to accompany each slide to elaborate on the talking points being raised in the slide.

Use the accompanying PowerPoint presentation tip list to assist in formatting the presentation and speaker’s notes. Be sure to include a title slide and a slide with your references. All citations and the reference list should follow APA format. Click here to review some useful tips for an effective slideshow.

Develop a 15–20-slide presentation in PowerPoint (not counting the title and reference list slides). Provide detailed speaker notes for each slide of your presentation, which include the main talking points for the topic addressed in the slide. Apply APA standards to citation of sources

Discuss how feminist theories differ from other social theories of crime.

Dr.Willian

Understanding female delinquency may require a different approach than that offered by traditional theories. In this assignment, you will compare how feminist theories can be applied to this topic, and how they may differ from other theories of crime and delinquency.

Review the Website, “Girls’ Delinquency.”

In a 3-4 page paper, discuss how feminist theories might be used to explain female delinquency.

  • Discuss how feminist theories differ from other social theories of crime.

Reference all sources using APA format. For citation guidelines, please refer to the table in the APA Style section of the syllabus.

Discuss three ways you can incorporate touch into your daily practice.

Prompt 1

Apart from meeting the basic components of fitness including flexibility, muscle strength, and cardio-respiratory endurance, the complementary movement therapies such as yoga, tai chi, and chi gung support health and wellness. Choose one of the complementary movement therapies and discuss how it supports health and wellness. Cite sources from the readings or online library.

Prompt 2

When considering using a touch therapy in the care of your client, one of the issues that should be considered is that of the comfort level about using touch on the part of both the patient and the nurse. By using touch, the nurse will enter the personal space of the patient. Discuss three ways you can incorporate touch into your daily practice. Identify one way that a person may react as you enter their personal space either with your touch or a close personal presence, and how can you address this issue? Include a personal experience you have had when using touch. Cite sources from the readings or online library.

Explain the biopsychosocial risk factors associated with alcohol dependence.

Write a 1,300- word paper addressing the following: ADDICTIVE BEHAVIOR

  • Explain the biopsychosocial risk factors associated with alcohol dependence.
  • Assess the biological mechanisms that contribute to alcohol dependence and explain why some groups of people are less likely to develop it.
  • Describe the phenomena of tolerance and withdrawal. In addition, explain the importance of understanding addictions.
  • Describe the most successful strategies for preventing alcohol abuse and dependence. How could you apply these on someone you know?
  • Assess the physical consequences of opiate and amphetamine addiction.
  • Describe the major stages of smoking behavior and the major biological, psychological, and social variables that make it difficult for a smoker to abstain.

Format your paper consistent with APA guidelines, including at least five scholarly references.

Define and defend all variables, including the dependent variable, in a single paragraph for each variable.

Purpose Statement and Model

1) In the introductory paragraph, state why the dependent variable has been chosen for analysis. Then make a general statement about the model:

“The dependent variable _______ is determined by variables ________, ________, ________, and ________.”

2) In the second paragraph, identify the primary independent variable and defend why it is important.

“The most important variable in this analysis is ________ because _________.” In this paragraph, cite and discuss the two research sources that support the thesis, i.e., the model.

3) Write the general form of the regression model (less intercept and coefficients), with the variables named appropriately so reader can identify each variable at a glance:

Dep_Var = Ind_Var_1 + Ind_Var_2 + Ind_Var_3

For instance, a typical model would be written:

Price_of_Home = Square_Footage + Number_Bedrooms + Lot_Size

Where

Price_of_Home: brief definition of dependent variable

Square_Footage: brief definition of first independent variable

Number_Bedrooms: brief definition of second independent variable

Lot_Size: brief definition of third independent variable

[Note: student of course replaces these variable names with his/her own variable names.]

Definition of Variables

4) Define and defend all variables, including the dependent variable, in a single paragraph for each variable. Also, state the expectations for each independent variable. These paragraphs should be in numerical order, i.e., dependent variable, X1, then X2, etc.

In each paragraph, the following should be addressed:

  • How is the variable defined in the data source?
  • Which unit of measurement is used?
  • For the independent variables: why does the variable determine Y?
  • What sign is expected for the independent variable’s coefficient, positive or negative? Why?

Data Description

5) In one paragraph, describe the data and identify the data sources.

  • From which general sources and from which specific tables are the data taken? (Citing a website is not acceptable.)
  • Which year or years were the data collected?
  • Are there any data limitations?

Presentation and Interpretation of Results

6) Write the regression (prediction) equation:

Dep_Var = Intercept + c1 * Ind_Var_1 + c2 * Ind_Var_2 + c3* Ind_Var_3

7) Identify and interpret the adjusted R2 (one paragraph):

  • Define “adjusted R2.”
  • What does the value of the adjusted R2 reveal about the model?
  • If the adjusted R2 is low, how has the choice of independent variables created this result?

8) Identify and interpret the F test (one paragraph):

  • Using the p-value approach, is the null hypothesis for the F test rejected or not rejected? Why or why not?
  • Interpret the implications of these findings for the model.

9) Identify and interpret the t tests for each of the coefficients (one separate paragraph for each variable, in numerical order):

  • Are the signs of the coefficients as expected? If not, why not?
  • For each of the coefficients, interpret the numerical value.
  • Using the p-value approach, is the null hypothesis for the t test rejected or not rejected for each coefficient? Why or why not?
  • Interpret the implications of these findings for the variable.
  • Identify the variable with the greatest significance.

10) Analyze multicollinearity of the independent variables (one paragraph):

  • Generate the correlation matrix.
  • Define multicollinearity.
  • Are any of the independent variables highly correlated with each other? If so, identify the variables and explain why they are correlated.
  • State the implications of multicollinearity (if found) for the model.

11) Other (not required):

  • If any additional techniques for improving results are employed, discuss these at the end of the paper.

Works Cited Page

12) Use the proper format to list the works cited under two headings:

Research: two sources

Data: a separate citation for each of the variables used in the paper.

Develop a compelling presentation to the operations manager that will explore the benefits of implementing supply chain management on his floor.

Both the operations manager and the warehouse manager have been impressed with your argument in making a case of supply chain management and quality

management within the company. The operations manager in your department wants you to conduct a formal presentation to him and the rest of the floor staff to

highlight the benefits of supply chain management. He has over 30 years of operational management experience with the company, and he is skeptical of any

change. He has never used any type of supply chain management techniques or tools, but found your discussion on supply chain interesting. The warehouse

manager has also expressed interest in having you conduct a similar presentation with a focus on quality management for his department and staff member at a

later date. This is your opportunity to really pitch the advantages of implementing supply chain management and for designing a quality assurance process for

these two departments within your company.
