In today’s global world, how do the children of the U.S. fare? Are they prepared to compete in the international arena? The Children’s Defense Fund (CDF) is a nonprofit child advocacy organization that provides a voice for children who cannot speak for themselves. Policies are constantly being reviewed and considered to help improve the federal, state, or local health care systems. Each one has the potential to affect each of us on a daily basis, so careful consideration must be given when policies are proposed. It is important to understand the process of how a topic eventually becomes a policy.

 

Choose a health care topic for which a policy might be formed.

Functional Areas of a Business

In previous scenarios involving RPZ Marketing, you reviewed the background of the business, the beginning of the major changes triggered by its acquisition of another marketing company, and particular issues that have arisen in the three functional areas of Operations, Marketing, and Human Resources. In Unit 7, you will encounter the additional area of Finance and Accounting, and in Unit 9, Information Technology (IT).

For this 4-page paper, select three areas to address, including two of the three already addressed in this course, and one of the two yet to be discussed. For each area that you select, address these three questions:

Consider the natural environment or biome found in the geographic area where you currently live. For example, if you live in the Midwest, the natural biome for this area is the grassland. Consider a situation where the temperature of the climate was to increase by an average of ten degrees Celsius. Address the following:

Due to the low standard of living in Colberia, much of the population lives in primitive huts with no electricity or running water. PharmaCARE’s executives, however, live in a luxury compound, complete with a swimming pool, tennis courts, and a golf course. PharmaCARE’s extensive activities in Colberia have destroyed habitat and endangered native species.

In preparation for this assignment, use the Internet or Strayer Library to research companies that have recently experienced negative consequences as a result of the company’s corporate activities.
