These are thought questions for which an informed opinion is required!

Theory to a case Study

Assignment 2: LASA 1 – Applying Theory to a Case Study

Select one of the two available video clips to the right.
The video will begin playing immediately.
Pause the video and notice under the Clips heading to the right, either you will see the \”Case Study of Carol (30:38) or Case Study of Paul (26:40) depending on which video you have selected.
Move the video play head to the timestamp of the video. This will be the number in parentheses.
Watch the Case Study
Choose one of the following theories and use your chosen theory and chosen video clip to complete all of the questions in this assignment.
Psychoanalytic
Adlerian
Client-centered
Existential
Gestalt
Reality
Watch the video clip of a supervisor and therapist discussing the case you have selected. The information from the video will supplement the information in the write-up.
Assess the client being described in the video and that client’s related issues using the questions provided.
Directions:

Using only one case study and one counseling theory throughout your paper, provide a detailed response to each of the following questions. For example, if you chose Carol and Psychoanalytic Theory, you would answer all of the following questions about Carol using the psychoanalytic theory.

Based upon all that you know about your client, identify and describe what in your opinion is your client’s most significant problem? This may or may not be the stated “Reason for referral” that is written at the start of each profile. Give a detailed rationale for your assessment and provide supporting evidence from the profile and/or counseling session video clip.
Identify at least two secondary problems from the client’s profile or video that should be addressed at some point in the counseling process. Explain your rationale in some detail for choosing each of these with supporting evidence from the written profile and/or the video.
Using your chosen counseling theory, describe what your theory says about the possible cause or origin of the primary problem discussed in question 1 above. Here, you are trying to explain the assumptions your chosen theory makes about problems that might be seen in a counseling situation. For example if you assessed your client’s primary problem as low self-esteem, a psychoanalytic therapist would delve into the unconscious whereas an Adlerian would explore family history and a reality therapist would look at choices the person has previously made. Explain in detail by including concepts and terms from your chosen counseling theory to support your perspective.
Explain at least three counseling techniques or core principles from your chosen counseling theory that could be used to address the primary and secondary problems of your client. Explain how each of these techniques or principles would be applied in the counseling session and the expected outcome of each.
Given what you know about your client’s situation, identify one cultural issue that is significant in the client’s life outside of therapy or could become an issue between the client and therapist in the therapy session. After explaining the issue, explain two ways the therapist could sensitively address this cultural issue with the client in a way that that avoids stereotyping or bias. Remember to integrate your chosen theory into the discussion.
If you were to see this client on an ongoing basis, describe the types of change or outcomes you could realistically expect to see in your client, in light of the primary and secondary problems mentioned earlier using your identified approach in therapy. Be specific and show how the process of therapy with this counseling approach would lead to the outcomes you discuss.

Celoxis Review

http://www.celoxis.com/index.php.

you will be looking at some software that claims to be able to manage a large part of the project management process: the Celoxis project management and project portfolio management software. Specifically, you will be carrying out an evaluation exercise relative to this software, much as any IT manager would carry out when making a software selection looking for the \”best of breed\” in project portfolio management systems. When purchasing new software, two or more candidate systems are chosen and ranked using an evaluation tool to determine the best solution. The ranking process requires careful evaluation of system features, vendor credibility and reliability in the market, peer-company reviews, due diligence reviews, and overall software fit to the company goals and plans.

As mentioned, for purposes of this exercise you will be evaluating Celoxis. Normally, you would probably be able to have some hands-on experience with tools that you evaluate; however, in the interests of manageability, we will stick to reviewing the information about the system found on the company\’s website. Carry out your software evaluation by reviewing the screenshots, video, and related product information

After you review the Celoxis website Start the paper with a brief overview and a description of Celoxis software, uses, advantages, and disadvantages, and your experience with the evaluation process. What are the advantages of using a tool to evaluate technology decisions?

To complete your evaluation of Celoxis, use the following PPM tool evaluation aid. This resource is intended to help evaluate and compare PPMs. When managers use software evaluation tools, they are more likely to choose wisely and have less probability of the software ending up as shelfware. For this exercise, only a portion of the tool is made available. The sections on help, training, and delivery were omitted. Use the following weights and scores to evaluate each element based on your understanding of the PPM software.

MasterControl Quality Management System

http://www.mastercontrol.com/resource/online_resources.html#od

Begin with the website of the MasterControl Quality Management System http://www.mastercontrol.com/resource/online_resources.html#od; there you will find several demonstrations of how the MCQM system tracks quality while incorporating company-wide processes for regulation compliance. Review the 3-minute FDA and ISO videos to get familiar with non-compliance risk, software validation, and risk assessment. You do not need to subscribe to the website, but make sure you think of yourself as a manager of IT governance in a big company rather than as a consumer.

After you review the videos, write a 2- to 3-page paper analyzing what you have learned. Start the paper with a brief overview and description of FDA and ISO regulations that exist to protect consumers. Briefly discuss how the MCQM system connects all processes critical to compliance.

Then create a grid as shown below with the selected regulations and the risk of non-compliance for each regulation, as well as solutions that meet compliance requirements.

Regulation Risk of Non-Compliance Solutions to Compliance

FDA

ISO

Conclude with a summary of what you have learned in the demos and the advantages of implementing an enterprise-wide quality management system to establish IT governance. Is it advisable to develop a compliance quality system in-house?

Entity Relationship Modeling

original assignment.
Assignment: Case # 11 from Chapter 4 of the textbook

This lab requires that you use Microsoft Visio to complete an Entity Relationship Diagram.

Microsoft Visio is available to you in VLABS or you may decide to obtain the software for your own personal use. Microsoft Visio software is available free of charge through Penn State’s membership in DREAMSPARK. If you are interested in obtaining your own free copy of Visio, please refer to the link Dreamspark under Lesson 01: Introduction Getting Started.

Complete Chapter 4 Case # 11 in the textbook. The case study is titled RC Charter2 Company.

In a Microsoft Word document, provide business rules for part A.

With the use of Microsoft Visio, provide an ERD to include:
1.A title block with a descriptive title, your name, and date.
2.The entities as outlined in the case.
3.Show relationships with crow’s foot.
4.Identify mandatory and optional dependencies
5.Show connectivity for each relationship
6.Show cardinalities
7.Resolve all many-to-many relationships

Attach your Microsoft Word and Visio files to a single submission to the Drop box for Lab # 2.
**Adjusted Assignment** //should be the focus
All —

I\’ve received a number of questions from people regarding the Lab 2 assignment. All IST 210 sections complete the same exercises — and thus this particular lab choice is used across all sections. This is a challenging first ERD experience.

Based on the questions that I have received, I have decided to make the following adjustments to this assignment:

1) Complete 11.a (Definition of business rules). Based on the scenario that you have been given, provide a set of business rules — i.e., what are the realities of the business as expressed in the scenario? See the scenario for a sample format.

2) Going through the scenario, identify the entity types that you feel would need to be modeled within this ERD. Remember that an entity is typically described using nouns, so for this scenario, one potential entity type might be \”Customers\”.

3) Model the relationship (i.e., create an ER diagram) between the following entity types ONLY (not shouting, just no access to italics :)): Customers, Charters, Aircraft, Payment. Make sure to identify appropriate attributes for each (including a PK), and to appropriately describe the cardinalities that exist between the entity types.

If you want to tackle additional relationships, you are welcome to do so — but (unless there are objections) I will primarily focus my grading on the items identified above.
