Write a paper of no more than 1,050 words reviewing a state level (not federal) business dispute taken either from your own experience, the text, or your own personal research. Include the following:
• Describe the legal form of business of the business involved in the dispute.

2. You and your neighbors have learned that an abandoned coal (deep) mine upstream from your neighborhood has collected a sizable pool of acidic water (pH ranges between 3.5-4.0). Heavy rains in the local area caused some subsidence at the mine and a breach of the mine pool resulting in a new point source of pollution to the upper reaches of the stream. Your children have played in that stream with their friends, catching salamanders, crayfish, \”minnows\”, and aquatic \”bugs\”. You, being a biology teacher, have kept a record of the stream fauna over the years. Due to the new threat of pollution to this stream, you and some of your more environmentally-conscious neighbors decide to form an \”action\” group to get the problem corrected. Your group is aware that there are funding sources available for clean-up activities in freshwater streams and rivers. Each funding source proposal requires documentation of the fact that pollution does exist. To satisfy this funding proposal requirement, the \”Save Our Neighborhood Stream\” (or SONS) Group must design and implement an inventory and monitoring program to collect water quality data. But the Group\’s funds are very limited and the local municipality is economically-challenged, as well. Based on this information, design a monitoring program for the stream that will demonstrate if there is a pollution impact, how far the impact reaches downstream, and what stream resources are impacted. HINT: Volunteer organizations such as the Izaac Walton League and Save Our Streams use these monitoring methods to assess stream quality. Remember, you are a biology teacher who has collected baseline data on the stream for the past several years (pre-pollution event).

3. A good example of collaboration between industry and Non-Government Organizations (NGO\’s) that resulted in a \”win/win\” situation is the case of Greenpeace (the NGO) and the Calor Group, manufacturers of refrigerants (CFC\’s and HCFC\’s) that have potential ozone depleting qualities. Greenpeace persuaded the Calor Group to develop a completely ozone \”friendly\” hydrocarbon refrigerant, \”Greenfreeze\”. Greenpeace used its world-wide contacts to promote Calor\’s product resulting in the product being sold and used in China, the fastest-growing refrigerant market in the world. Search those websites and find another case study where collaboration between industry and environmentalists resulted in the satisfaction of both parties (e.g., an environmentally safe/safer product or production method and industry profits). Your case study can involve the development of pollution control methods that resulted in the recovery of some valuable resource for industry while mitigating a serious pollution problem, or any situation where collaboration resulted in both sides being satisfied. Cite your resources correctly according to APA format.

Read the \”Ethics\” Powerpoint slides and watch the YouTube video (it\’s in the same link as the Powerpoint slides). Based on the slides, explain why managers should be ethical. Also, explain why it can be difficult to be ethical at times? Post this in the designated Discussion Board forum. You must also post a reply to another student\’s submission in a separate post, as well. Both are required, students receive no credit if both posts are not present. Post your directly in the forum, DO NOT post attachments.

Your work MUST include:

1. Your responses to the material assignment. Your perspective should select an angle and analyze the pros and cons of that angle. This is worth up to 50 points. It should demonstrate critical thinking at its best. Simplistic comments that lack analysis are not encouraged nor receive good grades.

2a. A specific, detailed actual organizational example of your point that is from your own organization (or an organization where you were previously employed). This is worth up to 25 points.

2b. An actual example that is NOT from your workplace nor any organization in which you have had an affiliation. It cannot be an organization that your family members or friends have any affiliation, either. This is worth up to 25 points. Your organizational examples cannot be hypothetical at all. They must be actual and can be from any industry or type of organization. Suppose you think that organizational change is challenging due to managing others\’ work. As a example, recently a U.S. postal employee was filmed throwing packages in people\’s yards, which resulted in broken package contents. The employee was reprimanded and, possibly, could be terminated. Does this suggest that the Post Office should change how it monitors mail carriers on their delivery routes? Why or why not? As this is an example (the post office story) given by the professor, students CANNOT use it for their own work-you will receive a poor grade if you do. All organizational examples must name the specific organization and must include specifics about the example at that specific organization.

For this assignment, briefly summarize the behavioral, knowledge, and belief objectives and then list your goal(s) and discuss why it is the most valuable to your target audience.

After this, begin your discussion of the campaign strategy (using the 4 P\’s). The order that may work best for you is:
1. Product
2. Price
3. Place

For the product, describe the core, actual, and augmented products your campaign will be offering to your target audience. How do you know your audience wants that? What are the benefits the product gives them? How can you ensure they know that? What cues to action/reminders do they need (or are you planning to offer them)?

For the price, describe what it will \”cost\” your participants. For example, a cost / benefit analysis might be useful. Also think about will there be a monetary cost? What major competitive behaviors exist against the campaign (or organizations) and how you will minimize their effect?

For the place, where will distribution of your campaign be located and why will that be beneficial? Remember it\’s always a good idea to be at the \”decision making\” point of the campaign, or where the audience is centrally located – even if your campaign will be predominately online/word-of-mouth etc. For instance, will you have a location at the worksite/school/organization? If so, what are the advantages? Will you have a social media component? Again, why? How does it help the distribution of the campaign message/goal and ease the burden on your target audience.

The proposal guidelines do not include specific instructions regarding the use of headings or subheadings. This type of detail was specifically left out, as most funding agencies don\’t have a preference.
