Analyze your personal political views on what the test authors call a “left–right” scale.

The relationship between public opinion and political participation raises many questions associated with how the public thinks, why they behave in the manner they do, and what outcomes in the form of ideological expressions will probably take place because of citizens’ behavior in the political scenario. Essentially, “who, what, and where” issues again surface in response to evaluation of political socialization.

Political socialization may be expressed in a singular way, depending on the issue of concern, but it is not derived from any single impact throughout the life of American voters and nonvoters. Qualities and conditions such as gender, race, economic status, education, and religion impact voter behaviors. Indeed, whether or not an individual votes, or takes part in any of the varied available options for participation, is closely allied with the political socialization of individuals and even entire socioeconomic groups.

The Political Compass Web site (http://www.politicalcompass.org) offers a self-test that helps you analyze your personal political views on what the test authors call a “left–right” scale. Take the test and review your results to see where you stand on the economic scale and the social scale. Discuss the results using the following questions:

  • Did your “test result” match what you thought were your political beliefs?
  • What is “politically correct” thinking? Give examples of what might be considered “politically correct” and “politically incorrect.”
  • To what degree do you think your values and beliefs represent the norms, values, and traditions of society? Define your answer using the following Likert scale—extremely common, common, moderately common, uncommon, and extremely uncommon.

Write your response in 150–200 words.

Part 2: Reflective paper

NO LONGER THAN 4 PAGES

It can be more difficult to write a succinct 4-page paper than a longer paper.  So, outline, work and rework your paper before submitting it to the maximum length.  Be sure to edit your paper before submitting as poor grammar and syntax detract from the value of the paper. You should use headings to clearly label the discrete parts of the paper. Since this is in lieu of an exam I am expecting you to put into this paper a similar amount of time you would have spent studying and taking the exam.

In this paper, you will be looking back and focusing on what you have learned overall and what you are taking away from this course.  This could include things you have learned from the text, from class, our guest speakers, your project, outside readings, as well as fellow students. Was there an “AHA” moment or something that you heard/read that really resonated with you? You should also discuss how you anticipate using the learning’s you gained about entrepreneurship and specifically about creating a new venture in the future.  This might include future jobs, graduate school, or any other setting where you feel the learning applies.

Also, attached is a sample paper  ( attached as “sample paper”) a friend of mine completed, you can use it as an aid to asnwering these questions. Please do not plagerize at all.

Additionally, for Part-2: I started a new venture for this class which was an online radio station, I have attached a file under the name of “start up” which gives you a brief description which you could also talk about in Part- 2.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or doubts you may have. Thanks!

Identify the major issues of concern to voters and compare how each presidential candidate addressed those issues.

Assignment 2: Presidential Election

Despite commonly held beliefs about the popularity of presidents, presidents are elected by the Electoral College. This uniquely American institution consists of representatives of each state who cast the final ballots that actually elect the president. The total number of electors for each state is equal to the number of senators and representatives from that state in the U.S. Congress. The District of Columbia is accorded three electoral votes bringing the total number of votes to 538. Thus, the magic number for winning the presidency is 270 votes.

Research the most recent presidential election using the Argosy University online library resources and the Internet and write a paper on the topic. Include the following in your paper:

  • Identify the major issues of concern to voters and compare how each presidential candidate addressed those issues.
  • Summarize information relevant to the issues and the election.
  • Evaluate the validity of each candidate’s arguments.
  • Cite your sources and prepare a title and reference page according to APA standards.

Write a 2–3-page paper in Word format (excluding title and reference pages). Apply APA standards for writing style to your work.
