Product Cost and Job Costing Vs. Process Costing

Go to www.youtube.com and search for clips from the show Unwrapped on Food Network or How It\’s Made on the Discovery Channel. Watch a clip for a product you find interesting.

Submit a typed report and Tu answer the following questions:

1. Copy and paste the Youtube link to the clips of your choice.

2. Describe the product that is being produced and the company that makes it.

3. Summarize the production process that is used in making this product.

4. What raw materials are used to make this product(s).

5. What are indirect materials are used to make this product?

6. Describe the jobs of the workers who would be considered \”direct labor\” in the making of this product.

7. Describe the jobs of the workers who would be considered \”indirect labor\” in the making of this product.

8. Define Manufacturing Overhead (MOH)? In addition to the indirect materials and indirect labor previously described, what other MOH costs would be incurred in this production process? Be specific and thorough. Make reasonable \”guesses\” if you do not know for sure.

9. Would a job-order costing system or a process costing system be used for this production process? Give specific reasons for your choice of which costing system would be most appropriate for this manufacturer.

Use the internet to find a social science journal publication that is in your area of interest and that uses correlation to investigate the relationship between any two variables. Include the link to the journal article here.
Write a paragraph-long review of the paper and be sure to include the correlation study. What variables are being compared and why?
Explain the conclusion reached in the paper. What is the r-value? How would you describe the relationship between the variables? What conclusions did the authors draw?
What are the important differences between correlation and causality? Give an example of any two variables that are correlated but not causally related. Feel free to choose examples from your work or life experience.

Focus Questions:

1.What stereotypes do these documents promote about African-Americans?
2.How do these men justify slavery? Or what points do they make about the need to abolish slavery? Should the emancipated slaves remain \”on-soil,\” that is, in the United States?
3.How do these men envision civilized society and slavery\’s place in it? What remarks do the abolitionists make about the conditions under which the slaves worked and lived? The pro-slavery writers?
4.What are your impressions about the attitudes these men had about slavery, whether they were slavery proponents or abolitionists?
5.In what ways are the arguments of these men reflective of racial prejudice?

For your essay, you must read the primary sources listed above and examine the descriptions of, and defense or attack of slavery offered in the documents. After selecting one side of the debate, you must write a three-page essay that addresses the focus questions. Your essay should have an introduction, supporting paragraphs, and a conclusion. In the supporting paragraphs, you should include specific examples or support of your position (quotations or paraphrases) from the primary sources for this activity.

Asian Americans have long been portrayed in U.S. media as exotic, strange, and/or dangerous foreigners (regardless of how long they have been residents and/or citizens of the U.S.). In recent decades a new stereotype has gained popularity: Asian Americans as a “model minority.” In this module, we will read Wajahat Ali describe how frequently Asian American actors are typecast. Leigh Adams Wright explores the use of Asian culture, fashion, and languages in the cult sci-fi series Firefly, and asks why U.S. television likes to reference Asia so often, but seems so reluctant to cast Asian American performers.

Investigate the performance of sportswear both in the UK and in India over the period from 2007 to 2014 and undertake the following. Explain how macroeconomic policy and two elements of the business environment taken from the following list have impacted upon the industry as a whole and the major companies within the industry: political, social, technological, and international trade (imports and exports), during this period. provide graphs and data over the period of 2007 to 2014.

Create a clinical question based on your Learning Contract, using the PICO structure. Also, clearly sketch out the elements of the clinical question in relation to PICO format as demonstrated in table 5.1. & 5.2.
Then, using the above PICO question, you are required to list the key words used to undertake the search, the rationale for the choice of words (why where these words chosen), the number of articles retrieved for each key word and the filtering processes used (including Boolean operators, truncation, combined phrase search etc.) as to reduce the articles to a manageable number.

Fred and Wilma are directors of Sabbulonarium Corporation (SC), a gravel pit. Wilma is also the President. Barney, an attorney, has performed legal work for SC for twelve years. Recently, Barney and Betty were made directors of SC. SC has a seven-person board of directors. Prior to becoming an SC director, Betty had entered into a valid written contract with SC to sell a parcel of land to SC for $2,500,000. SC planned to build a retail store on the parcel.

After becoming a director, Betty learned confidentially that her parcel of land would appreciate in value if she held it for a few years because it was located next to a planned mall development. At dinner at Barney’s home, Betty told Barney about the planned mall development. Betty asked for, and obtained, Barney’s legal opinion about getting out of her contract with SC. Later, based on Barney’s suggestions, Betty asked Wilma to have SC release her from the contract. She did not explain, nor did Wilma inquire about, the reason for her request. Wilma then orally released Betty from her contract with SC.

The next regular SC board meeting was attended only by Wilma, Fred, and Barney. They passed a resolution to ratify Wilma’s oral release of Betty from her contract with SC. Barney never disclosed what Betty had told him about the proposed mall development. Three years later, Betty sold her parcel of land for $3,850,000 to BamBam Corporation, which then resold it for $4,375,000 to SC.

3.Review the Introduction section of the Capstone Project. The Introduction section is where you will present important background information of your selected organization or industry, including its history, products and services, structure, competitors, and other pertinent facts.
4.Prepare and submit the Capstone Project Proposal (use the Project Proposal Template provided) by the third day of this workshop, in order to give your instructor an opportunity to approve or offer comments for your revision
