Tony’s Chips has recently been sold to a new independent company. The new company has hired you to manage a project that will move the old Website from an externally hosted solution to an internal one. The company’s leadership is very concerned about redundancy for their site, insisting that a back-up site be available as a failover in case the main site goes down. In addition, they want the site redesigned to allow customers to order products online.

As part of your job, you must complete a 10-to-15 page paper that follows this project through the system development life cycle (SDLC). This assignment will require you to do the following:

  • Build a Gantt chart using Microsoft Project or equivalent software, showing all tasks associated with implementing the Website.
  • The chart should include a minimum of five (5) tasks, each with three (3) sub-tasks.
  • Explain and justify the system architecture you have selected.
  • Illustrate the system architecture using Visio or equivalent software.
  • Create a use case that documents the event of a customer ordering a bag of chips from the new Website.
  • The use case should include a graphical representation using Visio or equivalent software and a text description of the events.
  • Discuss the support operations that the internally hosted Website will require after implementation.
  • Explain how you will evaluate the performance of the new site and the success of your project.

Assignment: “Proposal Critique”

In this assignment you will be rewriting and critiquing the proposal provided. There are at least six improvements to be made in the document. Your job is to identify the six improvements and then, using track changes, rewrite or fix the error. Also, using the comments tool, give a brief explanation to why it is wrong and why you fixed it the way you did. Note: If your word processing program does not have track changes, you will need to insert comments in brackets using red font at the improvement location.

In your document, you should:

1. Identify at least six proposal weaknesses using track changes.
2. Include a critique paragraph of at least 150 words at the end of the document.
3. Discuss improvements for each of the weaknesses in your critique.
4. Ensure both the comments and critique are concise and error-free.

Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:

• Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; references must follow APA or school-specific format. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.

All students are required to write a 3-5 page (double spaced, typed, 12 inch font) paper. Grammar does count! Please provide a response to the following questions:

Briefly describe your own history (family structure, birth place, income level, names of siblings, children, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents etc.). What traditions and stories have been passed down from generation to generation? If your family heritage is unknown please reflect on how this has impacted your life.
When did you first become aware of the concept of race? How did it impact your world view (please provide an example)

Literature Reviews gives students the opportunity to show their comprehension of assigned readings. Lit-Reviews also help students develop critical writing and reading skills. Successful lit-reviews show that students have read, comprehended the main concepts of an author’s argument and show the ability to critique and/or analyze the ideas being set forth by assigned authors. After receiving a positive response from StopNShopToday, Inc. management about the recommendations for the incentives and performance appraisal projects, the HR generalist has been assigned a project that will prove to be very challenging: assessing the competitiveness of the company benefits package.

The owners of StopNShopToday, Inc. are very concerned about the escalation of health insurance costs. When they started the business in 1991, benefit costs were much less and employees were happier with what the company provided. Now, however, the owners regularly hear employee complaints about the growing health insurance premiums they pay.

In addition, the owners are tired of employees always requesting that they be allowed to take a greater number of paid personal absence days. Scheduling employee vacations and holidays is difficult because the company’s store locations are open all day and every day, except for Christmas and New Year’s day. As a result, the owners want to compare StopNShopToday, Inc.’s benefits package with other similar companies. They intend to use these facts to make better decisions and communicate their problems more accurately to employees.
