Describe what makes someone a professional in your field.

In this Assignment, you will have an opportunity to view a set of slides. After viewing all of the choices of sets of slides, choose one of the sets that best represents your desired career field. Then, describe and analyze what you viewed according to the following directions. Each paragraph should be a minimum of 3-4 sentences.

Part 1: View and Analysis (3-4 paragraphs)

Describe and explain what you viewed. Answer the following questions in your response:

  • Were the individuals professional?
  • What made the individuals professional (consider attire, communication skills, presentation of self, etc.)?
  • After reviewing the slides, describe areas that would be unprofessional in your field when considering attire and presentation of self?
  • Include any additional thoughts.

Part 2: Personal Reflection and Connection (4 paragraphs)

  • What is the appropriate attire for an individual in your profession?
    • Note: you may want to research this by talking to those in your profession or researching appropriate attire for your profession as this may differ from what you viewed in the presentations. Review a brief overview of what is not appropriate attire in the majority of career fields.
  • Describe what makes someone a professional in your field. Use research and/or reflect on your personal experiences and what you know about your profession (or the profession you will work in).
  • What behavioral attributes do you practice that identify you as a professional (review the Unit 1 content for ideas)?
  • What attributes, such as attire, communication skills, and presentation of self, do you possess that make you professional?

Describe the hardware you will purchase or build (inclusive of computers, memory, storage, video cards, printers, routers and cabling). Justify your hardware selection.

Develop an entire home network with a budget of $5,000.00. Your configuration must assume the purchase of associated hardware for access to both wireless and wired connections and a broadband connection. For the purpose of your configuration you must assume the network will be used by four (4) individuals.

Write a two to three (2-3) page paper in which you:

  1. Describe the hardware you will purchase or build (inclusive of computers, memory, storage, video cards, printers, routers and cabling). Justify your hardware selection.
  2. Develop a spreadsheet or table within the two to three (2-3) page paper that itemizes the costs from the online retailer(s) of your choice.
  3. Summarize and support the approach you will use to back up your devices.
  4. Suppose you were provided an additional $2,000.00 to enhance your network. Explain the changes you would make to grow your infrastructure. Support your response inclusive of memory, storage, networking and redundancy solutions.
  5. Use at least two (2) quality resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and similar Websites do not qualify as quality resources.

Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:

  • Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; citations and references must follow APA or school-specific format. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.

Discussion Question

Kesha has invited her friend Carrie to go home with her over the school’s short holiday break. Kesha, like many African Americans, has a rich spiritual tradition that permeates most areas of her life. In addition, Kesha is close to her immediate and extended family. Carrie, on the other hand, comes from a predominantly Caucasian Presbyterian background, is an only child, and rarely sees any of her extended family.
