The Aenaid book 2

In this course, we will be reading a wide variety of literary works drawn from different time periods and diverse cultures. Each week, you will submit one reflection paper that reflects on that week’s readings. This assignment is not a book report where you summarize the story’s plot and characters and it is not a review where you simply state whether or not you liked the reading. Instead, you should demonstrate a high level of engagement with the text(s) by exploring themes, analyzing characters, comparing/contrasting form and style, and more. You may choose to write in depth about a single text or draw your analysis from multiple works. You will be graded on how well you establish a strong thesis and successfully defend that thesis with examples from the text(s). Weekly reflection papers are due every Friday by 11:59 PM (unless otherwise indicated on the syllabus) and should be submitted via the Turnitin drop box on Moodle.

Each reflection must:

1. Be at least 2 pages (Approximately 500 words) in Times New Roman 12 Point font, double spaced with 1 inch margins.

2. Show evidence of having read the assigned material for that week by establishing a strong thesis that demonstrates creativity and insight in your analysis of the readings. It is not enough to simply summarize the reading, but you must show that you can thoughtfully engage with the text.

3. Include support for your analysis through specific quotes from the readings. (Citations should be in MLA format).

4. Be free of spelling, grammar, and other errors.

Remember: This is not a research paper. Instead, your reflections should be a close reading and analysis of the specific texts that you choose from that week’s readings. Therefore, all quotations and examples should come directly from the class textbook and should be cited correctly. No other outside sources should be included in the paper. Evidence of plagiarism (including self-plagiarism) or cheating (unauthorized collaboration, submitting another student’s work as your own, or other fraud) will result in severe penalties. Refer to the syllabus for more information on the Academic Integrity policy.

unit 3 HW310

You will be required to submit a 1-page summary discussing the process of researching CAM practitioners in your area Richmond VA, reaching out to them reporting on who you were able to make contact with. Be sure to include what your next steps will be. For example, will you be interviewing them? If so, when? How much time will they spend with you? Will they allow you to observe them in a treatment sessions? Will you visit them once or can you meet with them several times? What was you initial impression?

In case you are having difficulty formulating your list of interview questions, below are some possibilities. You should, of course, develop your own questions, but the following are here to help you get started. Your questions will vary depending upon the type of practice you are researching. Try to tailor specific questions for Chiropractic, Acupuncture, Massage, Yoga, Naturopathy, Aromatherapy, etc.:

Why did you choose to study your field?
Did anything in particular inspire you along that path?
What was your training like? Was it difficult? What were the biggest challenges?
What was the nature of the schooling and its requirements?
Was your family supportive of your choice of professions?
How long was the training?
After the training, what is required for certification or licensing?
· Do you consider your practice to be Complementary and/or Alternative Medicine?

What is it like to practice a CAM profession?
Do you get referrals from mainstream medicine doctors?
What are the typical health problems of your clients/patients?
What problems are the most difficult?
Do you have continuing education requirements?
What do you think of the mainstream science studies that look at your profession?
What additional CAM modalities do you currently offer?
Are there other CAM modalities that you would like to add to your practice?
What is the most satisfying thing about your practice and your practice?
What is the least satisfying thing about your patients and your practice?
Are you as enthusiastic about CAM as you were before you began your training?
Have you ever participated in a scientific research study? Was it mainstream science and did it get published? Where?
Of course, this is just a sampling of possible questions. Tailor it for your use, depending on what CAM profession you are looking at.

For Chiropractors, you might ask whether they are \”mixers\” or \”straights.\” \”Straights\” are those who only perform the original adjustments, while \”mixers\” may incorporate many different CAM modalities and different Chiropractic techniques. You could also ask whether they practice one particular Chiropractic technique, or a combination of several. Be sure to find out the range of modalities that they practice, both within Chiropractic, and outside of Chiropractic.
Acupuncturists may be asked whether they also use Chinese Herbs. Acupuncturists can also be asked whether their needling techniques are more like the practices in Chine, Japan, Korea, or other countries or traditions. Remember that some practitioners only practice Acupuncture. Others practice acupuncture as part of the larger practice of Chinese medicine. Chinese medicine can include modalities like herbs, Tui-na, QiGong, Moxibustion, Cupping and Guasha.
Massage therapists might be asked whether they do other part-time work and what additional massage or energy work modalities they use, or plan to study in the future. You might ask whether they are able to earn a full-time living as a massage therapist, how many hours their training program was (e.g., 250 hours, 500 hours, 800 hours, 1,000 hours). You might also ask about their level of education (high school, some college, college graduate, etc.) and whether they have training in an additional CAM field.
Naturopathic Physicians could be asked about the state of their licensing and specific things they can and cannot do in their State. Would you like to be considered a primary care doctor? Is that your position now? Will it be in the future?
Herbalists could be asked whether they are certified by any organizations, whether they have any other health care or CAM license or training, and whether they have studied informally with a store owner, company sales representatives, or a practicing natural herbalist, etc.
Yoga practitioners can be asked whether they teach full-time and whether they only teach classes or whether they focus more on individual sessions. Be sure to ask what styles or traditions of Yoga they practice, whether they provide specific meditation classes and whether there are Yoga poses that they stay away from, such as head stands or shoulder stands. Do they teach beginner\’s classes? Do they teach advanced classes? Do they teach restorative yoga and therapeutic yoga for special populations? Elder yoga?
