Data collection is an important part of both quantitative and qualitative research. Although the actual approach to gathering information may vary, for either research design, researchers need to plan in advance how the data will be gathered, reported, and stored, and they need to ensure that their methods are both reliable and valid. As nurses review research when considering a new evidence-based practice, it is important to be familiar with sound collection practices in order to ascertain the credibility of the data presented.

Consider the following scenario:

Nurses and other health care professionals are often interested in assessing patient satisfaction with health care services. Imagine that you are a nurse working in a suburban primary care setting that serves 10,000 patients annually. Your organization is very interested in understanding the patient’s point of view to help determine areas of care that can be improved. With this focus in mind, consider how you would create a survey to assess patient satisfaction with the services your organization provides. You may wish to consider variables such as the ease of accessing care, patient wait time, friendliness of the staff, or the likelihood that a patient would recommend your organization to others.

For this Discussion, you generate questions and an overall plan for data collection that would be appropriate for a patient satisfaction survey in relation to the above scenario.

To prepare:

• Consider the guidelines for generating questions presented in this week’s Learning Resources.
• Review the scenario and formulate at least five questions that you could use to evaluate patient satisfaction.
• Reflect on the different methods or instruments that can be used for gathering data described in Chapter 13 and Chapter 22 of the course text. Which methods or instruments would work well for the scenario?
• Determine an appropriate sample size for the scenario.

Please answer these as your outline for my assignment:

1. The questions that you created for gathering information about patient satisfaction based on the above scenario.
2. Explain which method or instrument you would use to gather data.
3. Describe the sample size appropriate for the population and how you would select participants.
4. Provide a rationale for your choices, and explain how you can ensure high standard of reliability and validity.

Competition has, since the 90s, led to wider gaps between industry leaders and laggards. There are more “winner-take-all” environments and greater churns among industry sector rivals. We have witnessed sharp increases in quality and quantity of IT (Information Technology) investments. We’ve seen striking competitive dynamics, particularly in sectors that spend the most on IT. Some of the competitive dynamics models include the Destroy Your Business (DYB) strategy, the Grow Your Business (GYB) strategy, the Information Systems (IS) and strategic advantage, and the social business strategy.

Write a four to five (4-5) page paper in which you:

1. Compare and contrast the DYB and GYB strategies in terms of the ability to sustain a business in the marketplace over the long term, to be competitive against rivals, and profitability.
2. Examine the “cannibalization” strategy and determine if it is or is not a better strategy compared to the DYB strategy for growth, competitiveness, and market leadership. Provide two (2) business examples.
3. Determine whether or not changes in business strategy should entail reassessment of IS. Provide three (3) reasons to support your position.
4. Examine how firms can use social IT in alignment with organizational strategy and IS strategy. Consider collaborative capabilities, what, how, and who should use social IT for a social business strategy.
5. Use at three (3) quality resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and similar Websites do not qualify as quality resources.

Change is considered by many as the new normal. Effective change management must be part of an organization’s DNA. An emerging leadership style called the transformational style has been shown to be effective in this environment, especially in leading change. This form of leadership goes beyond traditional forms of leadership which relied mainly on centralized control. It emphasizes more open communication, collaboration, and participation by employees.

Using the assigned readings, the Argosy University online library resources, and the Internet, research the transformational style of leadership.

Then, respond to the following:

What are the key attributes of the transformational style of leadership? Explain why you think these attributes are required of a transformational leader.
From either personal experience, or through observation, provide examples of transformation leadership.
Which of the other leaders who you have seen come close to being effective transformational leaders? How could they have changed to be transformational leaders? Justify your answer with appropriate examples.

1. Chapter 1 in the course text explains the concept of an ecological model of human development. Review the information on pages 20-33, including Figure 1.5 on page 20. Then define in your own words the structures of this ecological model, microsystems, mesosystems, exosystems, macrosystems, and chronosystem, and explain how each influences the socialization of a young child. Conclude by choosing two of these structures and explain how each influenced your own socialization, using examples from your own childhood.
2. Chapter 2 explains that children learn the ways of the society in which they live via traditions, rituals and routines, and symbols. Explain the differences between each of these and one way each contributes to children’s knowledge of their own cultural group.
3. “Messages” from important people in their lives influence the outcomes of children’s socialization experiences. For example, parents who allow their male child to play only with “boy” toys communicate a message that may influence their child’s attitude about gender roles. Review the outcomes of socialization highlighted on pages 75-76 in your text. Choose three outcomes that are of most interest to you. Then, using examples, describe how early education, such as a preschool program, might influence each outcome.

2.  Do you believe living a long life is mostly genetic (“nature”) or mostly environment (“nurture”)?  How does your view influence how you live your life? Explain by giving an example of something you did that represents that view.

“Graphical User Interface” Please respond to the following:

Graphical user design methods allow programmers to modify the screen without changing code. Visual Basic can be used to create a demo mock-up for a user during design requirements. Develop some rules that would assist your design team to make this process easier.
Explain why font sizes and color elements are important when developing screens design used in a public venue. Describe at least three (3) other graphical elements that need to be considered in screen design.

 

“GPS Interaction and Cognitive Process”  Please respond to the following:

 

• Imagine that you have been asked to design a GPS product that will have voice recognition and Bluetooth capability. Discuss and conceptualize a user interaction model. Predict two (2) problems that may arise in GPS products with voice recognition and Bluetooth capability. Recommend solutions for each of these issues.
• Attention is one of the six cognition processes. When attention is applied to a design, the goal is to make it easier for the end user to quickly locate where he / she should type information on the computer or mobile device screen. Compare and contrast how the Google search engine and the Microsoft Bing search engine employ the attention cognition process. Provide your opinion as to which search engine better employs the attention cognition process and explain why.

Research two specific major Anti-Spyware applications for Windows. Compare and contrast their advantages and disadvantages. What is the worst that can happen from Spyware? 300 words minimum

Primary Task Response: Within the Discussion Board area, write 300–500 words that respond to the following questions with your thoughts, ideas, and comments. This will be the foundation for future discussions by your classmates. Be substantive and clear, and use examples to reinforce your ideas.

• What are the 3 branches of the U.S. government? Explain.

Within these responses, you do not need to worry about grammar, spelling, or proper organization of your ideas—the short written response is a place for you to practice writing as a means of discovering what you think, working out your ideas so that you may better articulate them during our discussions.
