Explain how the negative effects of sex and violence on children have increased in media technology.

Technologies evolve, but sex and violence have always been–and may remain–hot-button issues in the media.

Write a 1,750- to 2,100-word paper that addresses the following:

  • A brief discussion of twentieth century communication developments, milestones, and applications exemplifying changes in media portrayal of sex and violence.
  • Explain how the negative effects of sex and violence on children have increased in media technology. Provide examples and citeat least one contemporary news article.
  • Explain how the negative effects of sex and violence on adults have increased in media technology. Provide examples and cite at least one contemporary news article.
  • Make specific recommendations about how the problems of media portrayal of sex and violence might be minimized.
  • How does the volume and accessibility of media portrayals of sex and violence relate to your interpersonal relationships?
  • Consider the ethical and legal implications involved in the personal use of social media and other technologies to access and share images and videos.  Based on your own understanding and research of ethics, what ethical principles are involved in the use of technology in relation to images of sex and violence?  What ethical principles are involved when posting or making accessible the personal images of others?
  • What laws are in place because of photos or video made accessible without permission? What recommendations based on your research of law and ethics can you propose in relation to the accessibility and proliferation of images of sex and violence?
  • Examine the landing page of a mainstream online news source.  Examine the imagery used on the entire page, including any advertisements.  Discuss the diversity of the people portrayed.  How are women represented? How are people of color represented?

Explain why ethically the influence of new media technologies is important for us to understand.

Consider the following:

Any introduction of a new technology into a society initiates an endless series of effects, especially for those who have and use the technology compared with those who do not or cannot use the technology.

Write a 1,400- to 1,750-word paper that addresses how new media technologies affect social and societal issues.

Address the following:

  • Assess whether there is a measurable “digital divide” in the availability and use of technology between the haves and the have-nots in society domestically and globally
  • Critique new media technologies and the digital divide:
  • What is the socioeconomic effect within our society?
  • What are the consequences in the global economy?
  • Describe the role of the Internet in social alienation.
  • Explain why ethically the influence of new media technologies is important for us to understand.

Conclude your paper by answering the following questions:

Based on historical examples, do you foresee these digital divides narrowing or widening

  • In the next 5 years?
  • In the next 25 years?
  • What are the ethical implications of your forecast?

Explain and justify your answers.

Cite at least three peer-reviewed sources to support your work.

Format the paper consistent with APA guidelines.

The issues, challenges, and opportunities experienced by this group in the labor force.Discuss.

Create a comprehensive presentation of your equal rights proposition using the presentation software approved in Week Three.

Include the following:

  • The issues, challenges, and opportunities experienced by this group in the labor force
  • How society has constructed this group’s identity
  • The legal framework relating to this issue
  • A summary of existing or proposed solutions of differing groups. Consider the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, corporate human resource departments, state or federal laws and regulations, political strategies, government agencies, religious groups, and grass roots organizations
  • Whether or not this issue exists in other countries and if so, how it is handled by differing groups.
  • Your team’s compromise or alternative to existing solutions

Present your proposal in the software approved in Week Three.

Describe a practical application or technology that utilizes each specific part of the electromagnetic spectrum.

The discovery of the electromagnetic spectrum in the late nineteenth century opened a doorway to a hidden part of the natural universe of which humankind had largely been unaware. Humans learned to exploit electromagnetic waves for the purposes of communications and other uses. The speed at which the power of the electromagnetic spectrum was harnessed for technology during the twentieth century was staggering, and it has yet to subside.

Today, the technology that we use constantly would not be possible if it were not for the knowledge of the electromagnetic spectrum.

Using the readings for this module, the Argosy University Online Library, and the Internet, respond to the following:

  • In order from the longest to the shortest wavelength, list component wavelengths of the electromagnetic spectrum. For each type of radiation, be sure to provide its name, wavelength range, and frequency range.
  • Describe a practical application or technology that utilizes each specific part of the electromagnetic spectrum.
  • In your opinion, state whether the world would have the technology it has today without the knowledge of the electromagnetic spectrum. Give reasons for your answer. In addition, describe what the world might be like without this knowledge.

Support your statements with appropriate examples and scholarly references.

Write your initial response in a minimum of 200 words. Apply APA standards to citation of sources.

  • Do you agree or disagree with the assessment of how our knowledge of electromagnetic radiation has aided the development of our technology? Give reasons to support your statements.
  • What future technologies could be developed by harnessing the attributes of the electromagnetic spectrum?

Discuss whether or not the extension of foreign aid has successfully reduced poverty and the incidence of warfare in the selected country.

Use the Internet to research one (1) developing nation of your choice. Your research should include an examination of the effects that war and peace have on the distribution of foreign aid, as well as the material covered by the Webtext and lectures in Weeks 1 through 3.

Write a three to four (3-4) page research paper in which you:

Assess the positive and negative effects that peace and war, respectively, have on the distribution of foreign aid in the developing country that you have selected. Support your response with concrete examples of each of the results that you have cited.
Analyze the specific actions that the leadership of the selected country has taken, through the use of its foreign aid from donor nations and international lending institutions, to relieve the severe problems caused by warfare.
Discuss whether or not the extension of foreign aid has successfully reduced poverty and the incidence of warfare in the selected country. Support your response with examples.
Use at least five (5) quality academic resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia, blogs, and other nonacademic websites do not qualify as academic resources. Approval of resources is at the instructor’s discretion. Resources must also be within the last seven (7) years.

Discuss how you would exchange data with external data sources, such as websites.

I have a disussion question that need to be answer. Please see the question below

Excel 2013 provides the capability to exchange data with other applications. Discuss the different types of ways to exchange data between Excel and other Microsoft applications.

  • Are there limitations to the exchange process? Think of some specific examples.
  • How can you exchange data with other applications that are not part of the Microsoft Office Suite? Discuss how you would exchange data with external data sources, such as websites. (Be certain to include your references from your research.)
Answer

How does cultural change connect to biological evolution? Discuss.

  1. Many organisms that can reproduce both sexually and asexually share a reproductive pattern. When the environment is favorable for growth, reproduction is asexual. When the environment deteriorates, sex occurs. Sexually produced offspring remain dormant until better conditions occur. Which of the theoretical ideas about the function of sex is supported by this observation? And which of the disadvantages of sex are less of a problem?
  2. From the point of view of development, how does the life cycle of a bacterium resemble the life cycle of an elephant? How does it differ?
  3. If a trait is not well adapted to current local conditions, what might be the reasons why it is not, and how might one check to see which of those reason(s) is correct?
  4. In many old texts and in some recent popular articles sex is seen as necessary to provide the genetic variability that will keep species from going extinct when the environment changes significantly. What do you think of this explanation?
  5. Do ideas, agricultural practices, or computers evolve in response to natural selection? What then corresponds to reproductive success and to inheritance? How does cultural change connect to biological evolution? Neither reproduction nor inheritance can be as precisely defined for cultural change as they can for biological evolution, but the analogy is worth exploring.
