Management And Leadership.

The topics of management and leadership are important to a healthy and productive organization.  Students will write a paper focused on the human side of management and leadership using information from the course material, plus any supplemental material provided to you or from your own research.

This paper requires student to reflect on the various topics covered in chapters 6-8 and then select three aspects of the human side of management and leadership and write about what is valuable to you, not to employees or other stakeholders within an organization.  In writing this short paper, students are expected to explain why each aspect is valued and why.  In explaining why, students must support their reasoning using the course material.

Students need to avoid taking articles and writing the paper around the article.  Course material and articles contain information that will help students support their reasoning and it the reflection of the material that will provide the basis for the paper.

Required Elements of the Short Paper:

  • Identify at least  three aspects of the human side of management and leadership from the readings;
  • Explain  why the aspects chosen should be valued;
  • Apply the material learned in the course to support the reasoning of why these aspects are valued.

Required Formatting of Paper:

  • This report should be double spaced, 12-point font, and two to three pages in length excluding the title page and reference page;
  • Title page;
  • Introductory paragraph and a summary paragraph;
  • Write in the third person;
  • Use APA formatting for in-text citations and a reference page.  You are expected to paraphrase and not use quotes. Deductions will be taken when quotes are used and found to be unnecessary;

Computer Science:Network Technologies.

Network technologies can be employed in various ways to meet business needs. Developing a solution begins with a set of requirements that must be understood and met. Following is a scenario that requires the use of a variety of network components and technologies. When working on developing a solution, all requirements may not be explicitly stated. When in doubt, post targeted questions. When making assumptions, be sure to include them in your design document.

The construction industry has struggled over the past years due to the economy. Nearly a dozen companies, including builders and subcontractors, banned together to develop a strategy to increase their business in the greater Washington, D.C. area. This consortium of builders and subcontractors called themselves BLDRS-DC.

BLDRS-DC engaged a well-known marketing company that recommended that they use a Web site to exhibit their services, capabilities, and availability. Other social media sites would be represented in the final solution as well. This site would tie together their sales and scheduling information. They also identified the need for the project managers to have access to project details from the construction sites. This remote access would ensure tasks were completed correctly and decrease construction time considerably.

In addition to engaging a marketing firm, BLDRS-DC hired a company that develops and manages Web sites. The Web site management company would be responsible for developing the software to connect sales materials and scheduling information to the Web site. Fortunately, all the companies involved use the same scheduling software and database software for sales material.

As the network specialist selected to plan and coordinate all of the activities, you need to develop a design document that outlines the technologies needed at each company to connect their unique information to the Web site. Specify the necessary network components that each company would need to enable customer access and scheduling.

In addition, you need to identify a solution for allowing construction managers to securely access drawings and other pertinent construction details remotely.

Prepare a Word document that is approximately 3–5 pages in APA format.

Be sure to include the following.

  • Title page
  • Introduction
  • Description of the network components needed to allow access to marketing materials and scheduling information
  • Specified technologies needed to allow construction foremen remote access to construction details
  • Explanation of any challenges or considerations uncovered from the research conducted

Psychology And Criminal Behavior.

Extrinsic and Intrinsic Motivation.

Motivating employees has become an important objective for many organizations. In this paper, address the following:

  1. Define both extrinsic and intrinsic motivation.
  2. Provide one example of how each is applied to the workplace.
  3. Describe two advantages for each motivating factor.
  4. Explain how you, as a leader, would use these factors as a motivational tool.

Paper should be 2-3 pages long. Follow APA format. Include two outside academic sources to support paper.

Explain The Need For Effective Project and Team Communications Systems To Keep Stakeholders Informed of Project Status.

ou have completed the project planning activities and are now ready to share the results with the project team. You have scheduled a project kick-off meeting in two weeks and are now preparing your materials.

Deliverable Length:  8-12 slides

Using the Library, develop a 10 – 15 slide presentation that you will use for the kick-off meeting. In the presentation, identify the participants of the meeting, the objectives of the meeting, the meeting agenda, and the project’s objectives. Use the remaining slides to share key results from your project planning activities, such as the scope control system and the communication mechanisms that will be used.

In the communication plan, identify the audiences that must be reached. For each audience, describe the communication mechanism, the frequency of communication, the format, other involved parties, and associated responsibilities.

Be sure your presentation meets the standards for an effective presentation that you have learned in other courses.

Analysis on Projected Return On Investment.

Develop a three page analysis (excluding the title and reference pages) on the projected return on investment for your college education and projected future employment. This analysis will consist of two parts:

Part 1: Explain how you made the decision to pursue an education in Business or Finance. Include a summary of expenses related to that decision, such as: cost of tuition, cost of books, the interest you may pay on any loans, and any other associated expenses.

Part 2: Conduct research on your desired occupation and identify how much compensation (return) you expect to earn. How long will it take to pay back the return on this investment? Be sure to consider the trade-off between the cost of education and the expected return on investment.

Health Information System, Consumer, Trends and Marketing.

RMF- Who is involved in implementing information systems in your organization?
Are the individuals involved in implementing information systems from IT or user departments?
What are the phases of the system implementation process? Are there any phases that are less or more important than others?

What are some strategies that organizations use to ensure staff have the adequate training to be able to use information technology systems effectively?

Who is typically in charge of defining and monitoring the standards and goals of the implementation process in a health care organization when initiaiting a new system? How do the goals relate to the strategic plan of the organization?

What are some common challenges that occur during the “go-live” or implementation stages? Other than developing a project plan, how can these challenges be minimized?
Determining the scope of an information technology project can be overwhelming. What is a good first step in identifying the scope of an IT project?

What are the benefits and drawbacks of outsourcing the IT function?

IT is not necessarily the strongest resource in a healthcare organization, so hiring a company specializing in many of the needed IT functions makes sense.  However, outsourcing staff can also lead to internal challenges for in-house staff such as low morale.  Job elimination may also be necessary for in-house staff.  As a healthcare manager, how would you develop a strategy that would minimize low employee morale as a result of job elimination?  What are some steps you would take?

Living With a Disability

When Shelly saw Ms. Jones in a wheelchair, she felt sorry for her. She said a little prayer of thanks that she could walk and move freely without any hindrance. However, feeling badly for a person and actually sitting in the wheelchair for another vantage point is very different.

Imagine that you suffered an accident six months ago. The accident left you partially paralyzed from the waist down. You are currently seeking counseling from a professional specializing in working with individuals who have disabilities. It has been a difficult six months. Your central concerns relate to the emotional and physical adjustments you must now make in relation to your family, job, and future plans. You are permanently in a wheelchair and have limited use of your legs but full use of your arms and upper body.

  • Identify three major issues that you think you would need to work through in therapy. Explain what aspect of each issue is problematic for you.
  • Explain how your views on intimacy, usefulness, and security will change for you to make the necessary adjustments for living with the disability.
  • How well do you think you would cope with this situation if you faced something similar in real life?
