Demonstrate your understanding of the complexities of how we learn by evaluating the potential correlations between symbolic interactionism and constructivism. Apply basic research methods in psychology to your post by synthesizing the principles from the articles in your own words with appropriate citations. Do not quote the articles directly. Based on your course resources, scholarly articles, and the knowledge you have developed throughout the past four weeks, critically consider how/if these correlations might affect a person’s ability and/or willingness to learn new material. Consider the following in your analysis:

• Symbolic interactionism is actually a theory posed in sociological psychology. Do you believe this theory can be aligned with the framework of constructivism, which originates from learning psychology? Why, or why not? Support your statements with scholarly research and personal examples.
• In your opinion, what prevents (or substantiates) their correlation?
• Based on these theories, what possible needs should be considered when teaching skills to a group of diverse learners?

Wyndham Hotels and Resorts Database Breached

Summary

From a single breach, a hacker gained access to customer information from several of the company’s restaurants and other properties, and then downloaded it to an off-site URL. The information included names and credit card numbers of guests, the cards’ expiration dates, and other data from the magnetic strip on each card. The chain notified the U.S. Secret Service, which investigates counterfeiting, as well as the attorneys general of several states. Wyndham hired an outside investigator to appraise the damage and advise on improving security and a firm that specializes in credit-card industry standards to look into each compromised property to improve compliance. In addition, Wyndham notified American Express, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover of card numbers that may have been involved. It offered affected guests free credit monitoring and set up a special toll-free line that all guests could call for more information.

Mock Job Search

Select one of the three careers you identified and discussed in M1 Assignment 2and conduct a job search for actual openings in your area. If you are willing to eventually relocate, you may choose openings elsewhere as well. Assignment 3: Research Design Questions

Suppose you were going to create your own study to examine what course-delivery format (online, blended, or face-to-face) leads to the best performance in a psychological statistics class. In a paper identify the following for your study:

• What is your research question?
• What is your hypothesis (both null and alternate)?
• Is this a qualitative or quantitative design (based on type of variable collected) and why?
• Is this a descriptive, correlational or experimental design and why?
• What would be an example of a variable for this study that could be measured on a nominal scale? Ordinal scale? Interval scale? Ratio scale?
• Once you have collected your data, would you use inferential or descriptive statistics and why?
• Create a sample frequency distribution for one of the variables. Choose either a simple or grouped frequency distribution and explain your choice.

Term Project Proposal
As preparation for the final research paper, formulate a theory about the correlation between measurable independent variables (causes) and one measurable dependent variable (the effect). Be sure to have at least two independent variables for proposed research paper. The topic proposal should include the following four items which serve as the foundation for the final research paper after instructor feedback is given.
Unit 5
Create a draft of your report including the data.   This copy of the data may be in an Excel spreadsheet.

1) Purpose Statement
In one paragraph, state the correlation and identify the primary independent variables.
State the correlation as in the following:
“The dependent variable _______ is determined by independent variables ________, _________, ________, and ________.”
Identify and defend the “primary” independent variable, or the variable believed to have the strongest impact on the dependent variable:
“The most important independent variable in this relationship is ________ because _________.”

2) Definition of Variables
For each variable, write a single definition paragraph talking about the variable. Paragraphs should be in this order: dependent variable, primary independent variable, and three independent variables.
In addition to defining the independent variables, defend why each determines the dependent variable.
For the primary independent variable, at least two research sources that discuss the variable also must be cited. These sources need not be technical documents but should contain evidence to justify the relationship between the primary independent variable and the dependent variable. List these sources in the Works Cited (reference) page.
**Note: Citations from encyclopedias, Wikipedia, blogs, abstracts, or non-governmental websites are not acceptable research sources.

3) Data Description
For each of the variables, at least 30 observations of cross-sectional data must be obtained. Thus for the final research paper, a data matrix that is at least 30 rows by numbers of variables must be presented.
In one paragraph, identify the data sources and describe the data (i.e., which government agencies supply the data, which methods are used to compile them, when they were collected, etc.).

4) Works Cited Page
The final page of the proposal should be a Works Cited page listing the two research sources for the primary independent variable and the data sources, with a separate citation for each table of data, including specific table numbers for each of the sources.

1)  In the first paragraph, identify who and why you interviewed your chosen expert.  Provide their complete name, job title, company or organization, and address.  Describe their background and experience as it relates to your topic.

2)  In the following paragraphs, write the information that the expert provided in answer to your questions.  You may include as much follow-up information as possible in order to provide details in regard to your topic.

For the final paper, you will examine key concepts of leadership in your place of work, or in a social organization to which you may belong that has leadership concepts (Rotary club, athletic team, scout leader, etc). Include the following in your paper:

1. Apply one of the leadership theories from the course text to the organization. Explain how the theory works and include an example.
2. Explain the effect of power and influence that leaders have on followers in the organization. Are the followers receptive? Would you recommend another strategy? Explain your reasoning. If not, why not?
3. Evaluate the role and effectiveness of transformational and transactional leadership in the organization. Support your (claims, points?) with examples (from?).
4. Assess the traits and characteristics of an effective team leader within the organization.

7. Must document all sources in APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.
