Identify the instrument or instruments that stand out and mention anything that you noticed about how they were played (mánicos, plucking, bowing).

4. Report 4 (Son Jarocho): CD 1. Select ONE of the following:

a) Track 19, El Fandango Jarocho (Conjunto Hueyapan)

b) Track 20, El Ahualulco (Conjunto Hueyapan)

c) Track 21, La Morena/El Cascabel (Conjunto Hueyapan)

Instructions:

Include the title, the name of the composer (if known) and of the performer. Identify the instrument or instruments that stand out and mention anything that you noticed about how they were played (mánicos, plucking, bowing). Describe the singing style. Provide a summary of the lyrics (see the translations in the course reader) and point out any significant details.

Determine the point estimate, then construct the 95% confidence interval for μ7= the average attitude toward Springdale Mall.

The major shopping areas in the community of Springdale include Springdale Mall, West Mall, and the downtown area on Main Street. A telephone survey has been conducted to identify strengths and weaknesses of these areas and to find out how they fit into the shopping activities of local residents. The 150 respondents were also asked to provide information about themselves and their shopping habits. The data are provided in the file SHOPPING. The variables in the survey can be found in the file CODING.

In this exercise, some of the estimation techniques presented in the module will be applied to the Springfield Shopping survey results. You may assume that these respondents represent a simple random sample of all potential respondents within the community, and that the population is large enough that application of the finite population correction would not make an appreciable difference in the results.

Managers associated with shopping areas like these find it useful to have point estimates regarding variables describing the characteristics and behaviors of their customers. In addition, it is helpful for them to have some idea as to the likely accuracy of these estimates. Therein lies the benefit of the techniques presented in this module and applied here.

  1. Item C in the description of the data collection instrument lists variables 7, 8, and 9, which represent the respondent’s general attitude toward each of the three shopping areas. Each of these variables has numerically equal distances between the possible responses, and for purposes of analysis they may be considered to be of the interval scale of measurement.
    1. Determine the point estimate, then construct the 95% confidence interval for μ7=  the average attitude toward Springdale Mall.
    2. Repeat part (a) for μ8 and μ9, the average attitudes toward Downtown and West Mall, respectively.
  2. Given the breakdown of responses for variable 26 (sex of respondent), determine the point estimate, construct the 95% confidence interval for π26= the population proportion of males.
  3. Given the breakdown of responses for variable 28 (marital status of respondent), determine the point estimate, and then construct the 95% confidence interval for π28 = the population proportion in the “single or other” category.
  4. Assume the managers have requested estimates of the mean attitudes towards each mall with a margin of error of 0.05 for each mall. If the managers want to have 95% confidence that the sample mean will fall within this margin of error, how large should the sample size be for each mall?

Paper Requirements

Write a report that uses the Written Assignment Requirements   Items that should be included, at a minimum, are a title page, an introduction, a body that answers the questions posed in the problem, and a conclusion paragraph that addresses your findings and what you have determined from the data and your analysis. As with all written assignments, you should have in-text citations and a reference page too. Please include any tables of calculations, calculated values and graphs associated with this problem in the body of your assignment response.

NOTE: You MUST submit your Excel file with your report. This will aid in grading with partial credit if errors are found in the report.

Analyze the current system, describing and analyzing problems, opportunities, and constraints.

It is a good idea to also state what is “good” about the system and where the system performs well. This can help temper user/client reception to problems. Opportunities are generally better received than problems since they only represent ideas for improvement, not things that are being done wrong. FINALLY, USE TACT WHEN PRESENTING PROBLEMS. MAKE SURE THAT THE PRESENTATION IS CRITICAL OF THE SYSTEM AND NOT THE PEOPLE IN THE SYSTEM.

Be sure to use a minimum of 3 external sources to support your analysis.

Submitting your assignment in APA format means, at a minimum, you will need the following:

  • Title page: Remember the running head and title in all capital letters.
  • Abstract: This is a summary of your paper, not an introduction. Begin writing in third-person voice.
  • Body: The body of your paper begins on the page following the title page and abstract page, and it must be double-spaced between paragraphs. The typeface should be 12-pt. Times Roman or 12-pt. Courier in regular black type. Do not use color, bold type, or italics except as required for APA level headings and references. The deliverable length of the body of your paper for this assignment is 3–4 pages. In-text academic citations to support your decisions and analysis are required. A variety of academic sources is encouraged.
  • Reference page: References that align with your in-text academic sources are listed on the final page of your paper. The references must be in APA format using appropriate spacing, hang indention, italics, and upper- and lower-case usage as appropriate for the type of resource used. Remember, the reference page is not a bibliography, but it is a further listing of the abbreviated in-text citations used in the paper. Every referenced item must have a corresponding in-text citation.
Answer

Identify how the organization will be impacted if this issue is not resolved.

This course is comprised of a series of Individual Project assignments that will contribute to a Key Assignment submission at the end of the course. Each week, you will complete a part of a document that is designed to solve a management problem.

You will select a project as the topic for the analysis, which you will execute and document in this course. The project should represent a management problem that you will solve through research and application of knowledge and skills that you have gained in the courses taken in your program of study. This is the course’s Key Assignment that you will make contributions to each week.

Assignment Details

For the assignments in this course, you will be developing a Management Problem Analysis document that identifies a management problem and works through a formal research and analysis method to provide a proposed solution to the problem. Your first task in this process will be to select a project to use as the basis of your research and analysis for each of the assignments in the course. You will also create the shell document for the final project deliverable that you will be working on during each unit. As you proceed through each project phase, you will add content to each section of the final document to gradually complete the final project deliverable. Appropriate research should be conducted to support the development of your document, and assumptions may be made when necessary.

The project deliverables are as follows:

  • Management Problem Analysis Document
    • Use Word
    • Title Page
      • Course number and name
      • Project name
      • Student name
      • Date
    • Table of Contents (TOC)
      • Use autogenerated TOC
      • Separate page
      • Maximum of 3 levels deep
      • Be sure to update the fields of the TOC so it is up-to-date before submitting your project.
    • Section Headings (Create each heading on a new page with “TBD” as content, except for sections listed under New Content below)
      • Problem Identification, Impacts, Design of Research, and Literature Research (Week 1)
      • Problem Impact and Findings from Research (Week 2)

      • Discussion and Conclusion on Approach (Week 4)
      • Compilation of Findings, Conclusions, and Recommendations (Week 5)
    • New Content (Week 1)
      • Identify the problem.
