Select a question about ART that will get interesting answers and state a hypothesis you want to test.

This is a paper required for a Quantitative Literacy class. 1) Select a question about ART that will get interesting answers. 2) State a hypothesis you want to test. 3) Determine what the population for your data will be and how to collect it. Must have at least 50 data values. 4) Analyze your data using descriptive statistics. 5) Organize your results into a clear and concise report. All statistical terms and symbols must be expressed in layman’s terms. It must be well organized. Appearance will be graded as well as content. The actual calculations may be shown throughout the report or as a separate appendix attached to the end of the report. 1. Introduction – this should explain the reason for the report and a general outline of what is to be done. 2. Analysis – this will consist of descriptive and inferential analysis. 3. Conclusion – this should consist of a summary with final remarks. Also, present your findings to support the converse of the outcome. Graph the data using a frequency distribution table stem and leaf plot and a histogram.

Describe the population you would sample and explain why.

At the heart of every effective survey is a clear set of questions. Unclear questions give unclear answers. Specifically, when developing a community health assessment survey, you need to know what questions to ask in order to elicit the pertinent information. It is also important that you know how questions should be phrased in order to be understood by the receiver. A survey protocol contains a copy of the survey instrument(s) to be used and describes details of the methods and procedures to be used for data collection and management.

Review this week’s Resources to gather information about developing an effective survey protocol. You then apply this information into creating a survey protocol for your Scholar-Practitioner Project. When developing your survey protocol questions, be sure to consider whether you would use a quantitative, qualitative, or mixed method.

The Assignment (5–6 pages):

Submit   a 5- to 6 page protocol for a survey to gather information about the problem in your Scholar-Practitioner Project. The protocol should include the following:

  • A brief set of objectives for the survey
  • Describe the population you would sample and explain why.
  • Describe your data collection method you might use and explain why.
  • Describe your data analysis method and explain why.
  • A 1-page (10–20 questions) questionnaire for the survey.

Use the Resources and current literature to support your response.

(Note: The students will not be conducting the survey, only preparing the protocol.)

Explain the following Metacharacters/Regular Expressions.

To ensure the security of the files used by the new Web site, files need to access controls that limit which users can view and execute them. To further your understanding of file permissions, describe in detail these 5 file listings, explain all items on each line, explain what they specify or mean, and give the chmod command to set files with these permissions:

-rwxr-xr– 1 instruct staff 270311 Aug 11 2009 install.sh-rw-r–r– 1 instruct staff 348039 Aug 12 2008 User_Guide.txt-rw-r—– 1 instruct staff 635106 Aug 12 2009 Admin_Guide.txtdrwxr-xr-x 4 instruct staff 144 Aug 12 2009 Documents-rwsr-sr-x 1 nobody nobody 169202 Aug 11 2009 httpd

It is also a necessity to know and understand regular expressions, not only at the UNIX command line, but editors and some programs use them quite extensively.

Explain the following Metacharacters/Regular Expressions:

*?^$[0–9][a–z]

Give a regular expression to match the following:

All files that end in txtFiles that have a second character of a and end in shAny file that starts with a numberA blank lineA traditional 10-digit U.S.-based phone number, in the following format:(407) 555-1212

Submit the explanations, commands, definitions, and expressions in a Word document

write an extended (500-word, multi-paragraph) essay that expands on the topic. Please use all of the steps in the writing process (pre-writing, proof-reading, revising and editing, etc.). An odyssey has two crucial elements to it. It is a journey, but also a process of self-discovery. For some, their high school years are an odyssey, for others their marriage, career or military service. Identify a odyssey in your life (or in the life of someone close to you). What series of events constitute the journey, and what did you learn about yourself?
