Discuss the components and the history of these new realities in our world and how our lives have been affected by these new realities.

The study and practice of OB have been influenced by several new realities in the workplace of public and nonprofit organizations. These realities include:

  1. Diversity
  2. Technology and Social Media
  3. Globalization

Discuss the components and the history of these new realities in our world and how our lives have been affected by these new realities.

The introduction to Week 1 in our course describes five different aspects of OB:

  1. Individual Behavior
  2. Group and Intergroup Behavior
  3. Leadership
  4. Power and Influence
  5. Organizational Change

Consider your public or nonprofit organization workplace. Describe and explain how the three new realities in the workplace modified or changed the five different aspects of OB described in the introduction to Week 1. Research and write your paper based upon articles and books found in the South University Online Library.

Submit your response in an 8- to 10-page Microsoft Word document.

Suggest how fiscal and monetary policy can move those numbers to an acceptable level keeping inflation the same.

Weekly tasks or assignments (Individual or Group Projects) will be due by Monday and late submissions will be assigned a late penalty in accordance with the late penalty policy found in the syllabus. NOTE: All submission posting times are based on midnight Central Time.

Two important policy goals of the government and the Fed are to keep unemployment and inflation low, while at the same time making sure that GDP is increasing at an average of 3% per year. It is important to have the right mix of policies and that all the variables be timed perfectly.

Part 1: Assume that the country is in a period of high unemployment, interest rates are at almost zero, inflation is about 2% per year, and GDP growth is less than 2% per year.

  • Suggest how fiscal and monetary policy can move those numbers to an acceptable level keeping inflation the same.
  • What is the first action you would take as the president? As the chairman of the Fed? Why?
  • What would be your subsequent steps?
  • Make sure you include both the positive and negative effects of your actions, and include the trade-offs or opportunity costs.

Include the following concepts in your discussion:

  • Demand and supply of money
  • Interest rates
  • The Phillips curve
  • Taxation
  • Government spending
  • Wages
  • Costs of inflation
  • The multiplier and the tax multiplier
  • The idea of tax rebates to stimulate the economy

Part 2: Assume that the country is in a budget deficit and carrying a very large debt. Discuss the dangers of a high debt to GDP ratio and a growing budget deficit. Would this affect any policy changes you discussed in Part 1?

What are the average salaries of those personnel?

Business Law in the Workplace

Consider how the world of business interacts with the legal realm. What skills does a non-legal person need as an employee?

What legal training do you feel a businessperson needs in order to make good decisions? Please refer to U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. What (non-legal) positions there require a more than average understanding of legal issues?

  • What are the average salaries of those personnel?
  • Do you think you would enjoy liaising with legal personnel for a business?
  • Feel free to enliven this paper with personal experience.

The requirements below must be met for your paper to be accepted and graded:

  • Write between 500 – 750 words (approximately 2 – 3 pages) using Microsoft Word.
  • Attempt APA style, see example below.
  • Use font size 12 and 1” margins.
  • Include cover page and reference page.
  • At least 60% of your paper must be original content/writing.
  • No more than 40% of your content/information may come from references.
  • Use at least two references from outside the course material, preferably from EBSCOhost.  Text book, lectures, and other materials in the course may be used, but are not counted toward the two reference requirement.

Reference material (data, dates, graphs, quotes, paraphrased words, values, etc.) must be identified in the paper and listed on a reference page.Reference material (data, dates, graphs, quotes, paraphrased words, values, etc.) must come from sources such as, scholarly journals found in EBSCOhost, online newspapers such as The Wall Street Journal, government websites, etc.  Sources such as Wikis, Yahoo Answers, eHow, etc. are not acceptable.

A detailed explanation of how to cite a source using APA can be found here (link).

Explain why and identify the specialized functions that were discovered with regard to hemispheric lateralization.

In the Visual Ability test, a split-brain patient was shown an image in the left visual field but could not name the object. Explain why and identify the specialized functions that were discovered with regard to hemispheric lateralization. Consider some of the difficulties the split-brain operation causes and the strategies you would recommend to help a patient manage them. Was it ethical to do this study? Was it right to trade the suffering experienced by participants for the knowledge gained by the research?

Jews vs. Palestinians (who should get Jerusalem or all of modern Israel – former Palestine?)

A majority of you have taken the position of supporting Pontiac in fighting the invading Europeans, or that Indians were here first, therefore the nation and land should be theirs.  This begs the question, what about other places on the planet, for example:

  • Jews vs. Palestinians (who should get Jerusalem or all of modern Israel – former Palestine?) Based on your support of Pontiac and the Indians, shouldn’t we be supporting the Palestinians and be willing to fight the Jews?

  • Russians vs. Ukranians (who should get Crimea?)

  • Muslim Arabs vs. Africans (who should get all of North Africa?)

If the Indians are such victims, who are the victims here?  I could select hundreds if not thousands of other examples.  What is the moral or ethical answer here? (125 Words)

Write a brief but detailed description of at least two policy ideas you’ve identified, and describe in general terms how you think these policies would affect the macroeconomy in the short run or the long run.

Later in the term you’ll be analyzing how the policies advocated by various presidential candidates would affect the economy in the short run (aggregate demand) and the long run (potential output).  To get started, you will need to do some research on the specific policy ideas they are proposing.

Pick one major presidential candidate (even if they later drop out of the race, you can still continue with your analysis).  Next, do some research to identify the relevant ideas or specific policy proposals they have.   You might find the candidates’ policy ideas described in news articles, on the candidates’ web sites, or in other reliable sources.  Your focus should be on policies that are likely to have significant macroeconomic (whole economy) impact.  These are apt to include significant changes in fiscal policy (government spending or taxes), monetary policy (policies of the Federal Reserve), or structural policies that are likely to impact wages, employment, the development of human capital, innovation, or other significant pieces of the overall economy.

Write a brief but detailed description of at least two policy ideas you’ve identified, and describe in general terms how you think these policies would affect the macroeconomy in the short run or the long run.  In describing the policy ideas, be as specific as you can: if the policy involves a change in taxes, for example, include as much detail as you can about exactly which taxes would be changed, and in what way.  Include complete and correct citations for all your sources.

  • You must cite at least 2 non-text sources (journal articles) in the text.
  • Provide a title page and a reference page, also in APA style, at the end of your discussion.

Once you complete your research, submit this portion of the white paper to your superintendent for review and feedback.

Write a five to seven (5-7) page paper in which you:

  1. Propose your research topic in which you detail its relevance to meeting one (1) or more K-12 assessment goals in your chosen school district, focusing on a specific grade level, discipline, or target student population (gifted students, students with special needs, etc.).
  2. Examine at least three (3) key political, legal, and / or current issues related to your chosen topic.
  3. Describe at least three (3) specific needs of the students in the school district including students with special learning needs.
