Identify the top five most popular choices of hybrid cars. Analyze the advantages and disadvantages of each car’s technology, price, manufacturing, and impact on environment.

A hybrid car is a motor vehicle that uses two or more different sources of power. In most hybrids, you will find an internal combustion engine in addition to an electrical motor. Depending on how the vehicle is driven and the availability of power, the car uses gasoline and battery power alternately.

In this assignment, you will research five different hybrid cars and evaluate their impact on the environment.

Using the readings for this module, and the Internet, do the following:

  • Identify the top five most popular choices of hybrid cars. Analyze the advantages and disadvantages of each car’s technology, price, manufacturing, and impact on environment. Include the scientific principles involved in the technology.
  • Determine which type of car would work best for you and your family. Justify your decision based on your analysis of the five hybrid cars.
  • Explain the impact these cars will have on the United States’ economy. Consider the following issues in your analysis: consumer buying, sustainability, recycling, and fuel economy.
  • Evaluate the impact that hybrid-car technology has had or could have on the United States’ political relationships with oil-producing countries. Be sure to include an analysis of economic issues such as production, supply, and trade.
  • Describe how this technology will influence world politics. Include an analysis of economic issues such as production, supply, and trade.

Support your statements with examples. Use a minimum of six reliable references, two of which should be peer-reviewed articles.

Write a 4–6-page paper in Word format. Apply APA standards to citation of sources.

Discuss the techniques that many organizations use to ensure that their Windows networks are secure.

Microsoft Windows computers can be very useful by themselves, but they are far more effective when they are able to communicate with one another. In an essay, answer the following questions based on this study:

Discuss the techniques that many organizations use to ensure that their Windows networks are secure. Additionally, examine how to connect computers together without risking your organization’s information to loss, alteration, or disclosure. Provide information from your readings to support your statements.

What is the legal structure and what method of accounting will you use and why.

Final Project Details

Now that we have covered some of the basic concepts in managerial accounting, we might want talk a little about the final project so you can keep the objectives of the project in mind as you work through the next few chapters. For your final project due in Week 8, you will create a new/enhanced program proposal.

You may complete this as an individual or team exercise. You may complete any of the following formats:

  • Submit a new program proposal (Possibly one that you and/or your firm is working on now or recently completed)
  • Submit a proposal for capital equipment or a new position
  • Submit a business proposal for a new business ( A new “start-up” venture that you or a group of people are contemplating)

Prepare a proposal using either the format provided in class or a format you would be required to use in your present company. The proposal can focus on cost savings or revenue-generating programs. I strongly suggest that you use a program that you have or plan to propose to the organization for which you work. It is much easier to work with actual figures than to make up a fictitious company and researching what the possible figures might be. The proposal should include (but is not limited to) the following information:

  • Briefly describe the program and its relationship to the organizational mission.
  • How will you price your product, what is the mark up.
  • Discuss the return on investment.
  • What are the Net Present Value and/or project’s Payback Period?
  • If capital equipment is involved, is there a lease versus buy decision.
  • Do you require new personnel, if so complete the appropriate form and submit a job description?
  • How will you fund this new program?
  • Create a 1 year budget for the program.
  • If this is a new business, what is the legal structure and what method of accounting will you use and why.

This document should be no more than 10 pages. The cover sheet should include the type of proposal you are submitting, the name of your team members (if applicable) and their role in the project. Second page should be an executive summary giving a brief description of the project and any information you find pertinent (maximum 250 words).

Format is important, and you are expected to present the information in an attractive, professional manner. If your use references, please make sure they are cited either in the footnotes or at the end of the paper. A title page and a table of contents lends to the organization of the paper. The document must be double-spaced, and professionally prepared (i.e., using basic APA style and/or www.isiresearchsoft.com for bibliographic formatting resources) spell-checked, clearly organized, and clearly summarized, with accurate citations for all referenced work.

You may only use Microsoft Word or Excel to develop your paper; remember that you must show your calculations. Papers submitted in .pdf format are also acceptable.

If you include proprietary information from your organization, please mark your paper confidential to ensure that its contents will not be used as an example in future classes.

Lastly, please make sure that the project employs some form of financial statements, capital expenditure worksheets, and/or any other pertinent accounting support schedules that we will employ throughout this course. Every project that is submitted must have some numerical support and accounting schedules, not just a written analysis.

What changes would you like to bring to today’s behavioral healthcare system in order to resolve the current issues identified?

Current Issues in the Behavioral Healthcare System

In the course project assignments of the past four weeks, you have written on various topics dealing with trends and issues in the behavioral healthcare system. Those weekly project assignments can be used as references for writing your final research paper.

In addition, read and incorporate the following articles from the EBSCO host database into your paper:

  • Deakin, A. (2004, November). Finding your organization’s hidden        treasure. Behavioral Health Management, 24(6), 27-29.
  • Droppa, D., & Luczak, R. (2004, January). Collaboration, technology,

and outcomes—A recipe to improve service delivery.

    Behavioral Health Management, 24(1), 41-44.

To complete the research paper, you will need to include an introduction and conclusion section as well as a title page and reference section. The title of the research paper will be the Current Issues in the Behavioral Healthcare System.

Your final paper is due for submission. The paper should adhere to the following guidelines:

  • The length of the paper should be eight to ten double-spaced pages (not including the title and reference pages).
  • The main sections should have a:
    • Title page
    • Introduction
    • Body of the paper (with subheadings)
    • Conclusion
    • Reference page(s)
  • The paper must use the APA format for citing sources and references.

Your final paper introduction (one page) should include the following points:

  • An overview of the research paper
  • The purpose or objective of the research paper

The body of the paper (five to six pages) should address each of the following topics using information learned in the course, in combination with outside references:

  • Based on your previous assignments and review of the literature, what are some of the major issues faced by today’s behavioral healthcare system? How have the current and future trends that are evolving in the industry addressed some of those issues?
  • Do you think there is a difference between the changing trends taking place in the private sector and that of public behavioral healthcare inpatient facilities? Based on your understanding about behavioral health services and the populations being served by them, do you agree that both private and public organizations are able to provide the necessary clinical services? Provide a rationale in support of your response.
  • In behavioral healthcare, outcomes are the established norm for measuring the success or lack of services. What are some of the major challenges in collecting the data needed to support and report behavioral health outcomes? Provide a rationale for your response.
  • Quality of care and services is an important part of an outcome-based strategy. The objective behind maintaining and improving quality is to provide competent and efficient services to consumers. In your opinion, do the current regulatory and accreditation standards for the behavioral health industry help to meet that objective? How?

Your conclusion (one to two pages) should include the following points:

  • What conclusions can you draw from your research that would demonstrate the role played by behavioral health in the healthcare industry?
  • What changes would you like to bring to today’s behavioral healthcare system in order to resolve the current issues identified?
  • Based on your literature review, if you were asked to conduct a formal research project on any of the topics discussed in the research paper, what would your choice be and why?

Would you recommend investing in the natural gas highway? Explain.

You are being asked by your boss to evaluate investing in natural gas transportation. Starting with the Integrative Cases at the end of each section of the text you will submit three papers . Each paper must be submitted in hardcopy (double spaced) and use the following format:

a. Your boss wants you to be concise. No more than Three (3) pages.

b. Put your name and case number at the top of each page

c. Back up your analysis with solid sources

c. Add end notes for any sources used

2. Case 2. Use the case on page 304. Again this case was written in 2010-2012. The case predicts a major infrastructure project. Is it happening? Would you recommend investing in the natural gas highway? What environmental issues have impacted (+ or -) the natural gas highway? Again focus on infrastructure, we’ll take on fracking in the final paper.

Discuss how to Analyzing Stall Points.

Application with Peer Review: Analyzing Stall Points

The United States was a young country in 1790, when Henry Wood founded a company to import and distribute English-milled flour for baking. The company prospered and took on other partners, becoming a joint-stock ownership. In 1895, the company introduced a new brand of premium flour, King Arthur Flour, which was a commercial success. When retail sales to home cooks declined, the company started selling to commercial bakers. Over the years, markets for flour changed, the product line expanded, and new owners came in. When the company encountered problems, it made changes, but, by the 1970s, the company faced significant financial pressures. The company’s president made several critical decisions, including selling off all product lines except the core flour business. He moved the company from Boston, Massachusetts, to a less expensive location in Vermont. Then, in 1996, the company became an employee-owned firm. More than 220 years after its founding, The King Arthur Flour Co., Inc., is still in business (and is still selling flour), making it one of the oldest companies in the United States (King Arthur, 2013).

Through more than two centuries of operation, King Arthur experienced successes and failures. When problems arose, the company took actions that turned out to be mostly successful. Like King Arthur, virtually all companies with a long history have experienced periods when growth stalled. Recognizing and analyzing a stall is a critical factor in determining what action will be effective.

As you review the article “When Growth Stalls,” (located in this week’s resources) consider the pervasiveness of this problem. Also consider how a growth stall fits a systems pattern, or archetype. Consider the systems archetypes that Senge reviews in Chapter 6, “Nature’s Templates: Identifying the Patterns that Control Events.” Review the articles “Towards the Definition and Use of a Core Set of Archetypal Structures in System Dynamics” and “The System Archetypes” (located in this week’s resources) to view examples in the use of archetypes to analyze business problems.

As you review the case study “Bayonne Packaging, Inc.,” (located in this week’s resources) consider the factors that contributed to the company’s first loss in 10 years. Think about how you would use common systems archetypes to analyze Bayonne’s situation. Consider what those diagrams could reveal in understanding the company’s performance problems and which systems strategies could resolve these problems.

Assignment

For this assignment due day 3:

  • Using a formal systems diagramming approach, analyze Bayonne’s organizational performance and develop a robust effect-cause-effect tree diagram using the 5-Whys tool, as done previously in the course.
  • Create a robust casual loop diagram that incorporates appropriate causal loop logic in the analysis, and which also identifies common system archetype patterns within the diagram. This diagram should describe fundamental system behaviors and outcomes. The diagram itself should be one page and can be hand-drawn or drawn with software. Tables are not appropriate; it must be in the form of a diagram.
  • Write a summary description, including specific recommendations, that links directly to both your 5-why and associated CLD analysis (which includes embedded archetype relationships) for improving the packaging company’s operations and the organization as a whole. (1-2 single spaced pages).

Discuss the influence these standards have on how leaders of agencies manage daily operations in an agency.

is to ensure that clients receive the highest level of care.

This exercise will sharpen your ability to recognize the importance of accountability in human services work in addition to encouraging you to process the related challenges in meeting the standards.

Tasks:

Write a 2- to 3-page essay on the influence of accountability standards, leadership style, and diversity on an organization. In the essay, discuss the following:

  • Discuss how standards of care influence direct services.
  • Discuss the influence these standards have on how leaders of agencies manage daily operations in an agency.
  • Discuss the influence of accountability standards on the satisfaction of direct service workers in addition to how this might influence how the workers relate with the managers of the agency.

Submission Details:
