Universal Design for Learning (UDL) can be defined as “a set of principles for curriculum development that gives all individuals equal opportunities to learn” (CAST, n.d.).

Differentiation can be defined as meeting students at their current level of readiness and then planning instruction around individual needs. When combining these two theories, classroom instruction becomes engaging, dynamic, and inclusive.

Using one of the following free online presentation tools listed below, create an interactive presentation that:

a)    Compares and contrasts the two concepts

b)    Explains how you envision blending the concepts in your current or future classroom.

Are We Really Ready?

In 2001, the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) formed a coalition called “The Partnership for Community Safety: Strengthening America’s Readiness.” The focus of the partnership was to strengthen the healthcare community’s response to disasters. It brought together several healthcare organizations in an effort to work together toward this goal.

Choose an organization that is a part of this movement, and prepare a paper on the organization. In your paper, include the answers for the following points:

• A brief historical background of the organization
• The main purpose and the role of the organization
• Any regulatory requirements or guidelines, which the organization formulated for disaster preparedness
• Any experience the organization has had with the disaster response
• Any legal or ethical issues that the organization has encountered with regard to emergency preparedness

Federal Response during Disasters

FEMA follows strict guidelines when making a major disaster declaration. As a result of these guidelines, a major disaster declaration by FEMA is not available for all terrorist incidents, such as a bioterrorist attack. On the basis of your knowledge on the topic, answer the following question:
