Part 2

From the tools you suggested in Part 1, which one do you personally use the most and share the benefits to you and your learners? Why is it harder for an adult to use new technologies than it is for a child? Does Internet accessibility widen or narrow the knowledge gap between ethnic or economic groups within the United States? What about access to highly-portable network devices such as tablets or cell phones? How important are these tools in instructional design or instructional delivery?

States have enacted laws that require professionals to report to child, elder, and dependent adult abuse whenever they suspect or discover it in the course of their professional activities. Ethical dilemmas involving confidentiality arise when there are conflicts between responsibilities. Members of the helping professions should know and observe the ethics codes and make sound judgments that are within the parameters of acceptable practice.

How do you see your role in addressing substance use? Where do your personal values and convictions need refinement? What else may be done within faith communities? This area is a ripe one for investigating resources related to your final project.

Alex is an infrequent attendee at your church. He is 28 years old, lives with his father, and is separated from his wife of 3 years. He has one child, age 2, whom he sees “occasionally.” Alex  is seeking counseling at the insistence of his father.  Alex is currently unemployed, but does odd construction jobs with a friend of his as he is needed.  He complains of his father “always hounding me for drinking a beer, even though he drinks too.”  He reports drinking “a few” beers per day, rarely getting drunk.  He has drank since high school. His additional substance use history (per self-report) include marijuana use (daily when younger, “maybe once a month” currently), and polysubstance use during high school. He denies other use at the current time.

 

His wife left him 18 months ago, stating she felt him to be unreliable. He blames lack of employment as the issue, but also stated she complained about his drinking as well, though he does not feel there is a problem with his alcohol use. He has a history of a DUI from 3 years ago, reported getting in trouble several times when younger due to alcohol use, but denies experiencing related struggles from his perspective.

 

He has a hard time sleeping, has adequate appetite, and spends his day watching tv when not working with his friend.  He drinks at home during the day, and goes out after working with his friend to a local bar when he has money to do so.  He speaks of his relationship with God as distant, recalling his salvation story that occurred as a high school student. He attends church to meet others and to engage with the worship (he enjoys the band).  He does not feel particularly close to anyone.

For this discussion, describe the methods and procedures for conducting the data analysis using your chosen research question, methodology, and model (if applicable, such as Giorgi’s model of phenomenology or Moustakas’s model of phenomenology; Stake’s model of case study or Yin’s model of case study; Corbin and Strauss’s model of grounded theory or Charmaz’s model of grounded theory, et cetera).

In Assignment 2, you developed a project plan. Now, using the information from your project proposal, create a multi-level work breakdown structure (WBS) and detailed project schedule.
Your project must include the following criteria:
The project must consist of at least twenty-five (25) tasks.
Each task must contain a start date, a finish date, and have main staffing and non-staffing resources assigned.
Assume that your work activities are completed during normal weekdays (no weekend work) under normal conditions (8 hours per day).

When will the project be completed?
The project is set to start on 2 November 2015 and will be completed on 25 August 2018. The project team will take a total duration of 694 days to complete construction of the baseball stadium.
What is the critical path for the project?
From the project plan developed, the project has two critical paths. The first project critical path consists of the following project tasks 2 – 5 – 6 – 9 – 10 -14 -15 – 20. The second critical path consists of the following tasks 2 – 5 – 6 – 7 – 10 -14 -15 – 20.
How much slack / float is in your project? What activities have the greatest slack / float?
In order to determine the project slack, the early start and late start times for each project needs calculation. The early start times are calculated in the forward direction of the project network diagram starting from the start point heading to the project finish. On the other hand, the late start times are calculated in the reverse direction of the project network starting from the finish point heading to the project start. The table below shows each project task, its duration, early start duration and late start duration. Project task for each task is calculated as Slack = Late start – Early start.
