For this project students will choose 2 specific songs/compositions from 2 different genres. Compare and contrast both pieces. Note any similarities/differences in overall feel, use of melody, rhythm and harmony, ostinatos, form (organization of ideas), etc.

NOTE: You are not comparing two genres – for instance: don’t compare Rock to Classical.  Rather choose a song from each and compare them (eg. “Elenor Rigby” by the Beatles and the first movement of “Winter” by Vivaldi). These two pieces both open with a cold, barren haunting introduction. They use sparse texture to convert a cold and lonely environment.

Any genre differences will come out automatically in describing each piece.

Gangs are a key issue for law enforcement officials and a major social problem. They are organized in a particular fashion and engage in a variety of criminal activities.

Landmark Case Presentation

In this module, present your research findings on the landmark cases related to competency to stand trial (CST), criminal responsibility, the right to receive mental health treatment, the right to refuse psychiatric treatment, coercion to mental health treatment, and civil commitment and treatment of sex offenders.

Tasks:

Create a case report for each selected case, including the following headings:

• Title and Citation: Provide the title of the case and in which court the case is involved.
• Type of Action: Describe the type of the case.
• Facts of the Case: Describe the key facts in the case with roles and responsibilities of forensic psychology professionals.
• Contentions of the Parties: Explain the relevant points in the contentions of the parties.
• Issue: Describe the issue from the viewpoint of the psycholegal question at hand.
• Decision: Explain the decision in the case with implications, present and future, for the practice of forensic psychology.

Assignment: Market Structure and Financial Stability

Question: Based on the dataset from World Bank on Financial Structure and Development, carry out a cross-country analysis on financial market structure and financial stability.
