My Lot in Life

This project involves (a) writing a paper on your topic of choice. I encourage you to pick a developmental issue or challenge that interests you.
The paper involves presenting the issue, identifying the relevant psychological theories and concepts, summarizing the current research, and stating why the issue is important. Your summary of current research must identify both sides of the arguments or all ways of dealing with the issue; for example, whether to mainstream or institutionalize children with Down syndrome. You must also discuss how you would deal with this \”lot.\” The paper may not consist only of answers to these questions; it must be an integrated essay. You will tell the story from your point of view but will incorporate research about the topic that is informing your decision-making process. You can use a real or hypothetical situation as your “lot in life”. This applied aspect is key to the success of your work.

Market Failure Research Paper

Topic Suggestions for Market Failure Research Paper
The following are some ideas to help you pick a topic for the Market Failure Research Paper assignment. Consult with your instructor if you are having trouble picking a topic.
What are some areas where the MARKET Fails to give us adequate quantity of output and desirable price??
(A) Public Goods and Service — Schools, Highways and Streets, Fire and Police Protection, National Defense, Prisons
(B) Industries that Need to be Regulated — Utilities, Airlines, Banks — As our economy changes what other industries also need to be regulated or de-regulated?
(C) Externalities — Companies produce some type of external cost that affects the community. The company would not voluntarily reduce or eliminate this cost unless the government required them to do so. (These could also be benefits that would add to community but not benefit the company in any way.)
(D) Income Inequality — Minimum Wage, Welfare Programs, Unemployment Benefits, Social Security, Medicaid — Areas where our society is becoming more socialized.

Assignment: Pick one market in which the price system does not produce an equitable price and quantity of output. Write a paper of 250 words minimum discussion with at least (2) sources cited in the MLA format. Include in your discussion:

(1) What action has our government taken in order to provide this good or service in an equitable fashion?

Draft contract of purchase(#5)

Two of your favorite clients, a brother and a sister in their 20s, have come to you for help with the sale of a beautiful lake shore cottage. Both the brother and the sister feel very sad about having to sell the cottage, but with their present incomes, they simply cannot afford maintenance and taxes on the cottage.
Your clients have asked you to draw up the necessary papers. While talking with them, you realize that each of them dreams of being able to buy the cottage back sometime. You ask them if they would like you to include a right to first refusal so that if the prospective buyer ever sells the cottage they would be given the first chance to buy it. They are delighted with the idea and ask you to include such a provision in the contract.
Draft a contract that your clients, the brother and sister, can have any purchaser sign.
1. First, remember to set forth the names and addresses of the parties and how the buyers intend to title.
2. Specify the amount of the purchase price, the date of closing and the form in which the money must be paid at closing.
3. State how much has been paid at deposit at the time of signing the contract.
4. How long does the buyer have to secure financing?
5. What happens if the buyer cannot get the approved type of financing within the stated time?
6. What happens if any of the parties should die
7. What happens if the property is partially or completely destroyed prior to closing by fire, wind, storm, earthquake or other event beyond the control of the parties.
8. Who carries insurance on the property between the time the contract is signed and the time of closing?

Nature Versus Nurture

Assignment 2: Discussion—Nature Versus Nurture

The term gender has been used in the field of social science to define the line between biological and social differences. Popular culture has transcribed these differences into the nature-versus-nurture debate. In popular culture, the use of these descriptors indicates a complete understanding of the breadth of both socially and biologically determined differences regarding the psychology of gender.

In this assignment, you will imagine you are part of a debate in a communications course. The debate is on the subject of nature versus nurture.

The facilitator will assign you to a debate team either in favor of nature or nurture.

Using the module readings, the Argosy University online library resources, and the Internet, research the subject of nature versus nurture. Select at least one scholarly, peer-reviewed resource for use in this assignment.

Combine your experiences with the research and respond to the following:

Provide a focused introduction that integrates the description of your assigned perspective along with a well-crafted argument.
Provide your closing arguments about why your perspective is more important in determining the psychology of gender and its impact on psychosocial development.
Include one personal example and one extraneous example from your research to support your assertions. The extraneous research example can be from the module readings or from independent research.

Write your initial response in 300–400 words. Apply APA standards to citation of sources.

By Saturday, July 16, 2016, post your response to the appropriate Discussion Area. Through Wednesday, July 20, 2016, review and comment on at least two peers’ responses.
