E-Learning for Training and Potential Barriers

In Chapter Five of the textbook, e-learning as a method of training is discussed. In Chapter Six, potential barriers of e-learning readiness to implementing e-learning as a training method are examined. In a two- to three- page paper (excluding the title and reference pages), examine e-learning and the barriers. Include the following in your paper:

1. Describe e-learning as a training method.
2. Describe the potential barriers of e-learning readiness.
3. Analyze how e-learning readiness has affected your success at Ashford University.
4. Explain what a trainer can do to prepare learners for e-learning.

Your paper must include in-text citations and references from at least two scholarly sources, excluding the textbook, and be formatted according to APA guidelines as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.

In 1,200-words, Research a minimum of 4 typical business plan models.

1. Compare and contrast these typical business plan models.
2. Describe the strengths and limitations of these models.
3. Compare these models to the business plan models in either Microsoft Project or Apple Merlin.
4. Select the model that you believe will work best for your assigned CLC Business Plan; explain your rationale for this selection.

Assume that you are working in a community health department. The department has some federal money that it wants to allocate to two health promotion programs from the following:

• Decrease in deaths from cardiovascular disease
• Decrease in deaths from breast cancer
• Decrease in teenage pregnancy
• Decrease in cigarette smoking
• Decrease in incidence of diabetes
• Decrease in motor vehicle accidents
• Decrease in osteoporosis and hip fractures among women
• Decrease in obesity

Identify the health promotion programs that you would want to investigate and get them approved by your instructor.

Write a 3- to 4-page report in a Microsoft Word document, addressing the following questions:

• Identify the risk factors associated with the selected health promotion programs.
• What is the target population associated with the selected health promotion program? Consider the hypothetical target population, consisting of middle-aged women, male adolescent gang members, premature infants, etc., and describe the characteristics of each program.
• What are the risk factors that you want to focus on in order to achieve the objective of the health promotion program?
• What intervention would you recommend to be most appropriate to reduce exposure to these risk factors? You can choose at what level of intervention you want to implement each program (primary, secondary, tertiary health intervention).
• What will be the process by which this intervention will achieve the goal of the program?
• What will be the anticipated outcome of this intervention?

Importance of Vaccination

Mary’s one year old daughter is due to be given the Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) vaccine during her next visit to the doctor. Mary is upset and concerned because one of her friend’s sons became ill after a similar vaccination. She has also heard rumors that MMR vaccine causes rubella. Mary was also told that her daughter will need to be vaccinated before Mary returns to work.

Mary is not alone. Many parents face this issue. Therefore, it is important for Mary and all such parents to make decisions that are best for their children, based on facts and not emotions.

Place yourself in the role of a health care worker, submit to the discussion area your plan to validate the importance of vaccination by addressing the following questions:

• Why are vaccinations necessary components of the healthcare programs?
• Are there reasons for people not being vaccinated despite of such elaborate healthcare programs? Explain.
• What are the consequences of people not being vaccinated?
• What is the impact of religious, cultural, legal, and ethical issues that parents need to consider before vaccination?
• What type of information will help the parents make an informed decision about vaccinating their children?

Using the South University Online Library or the Internet, research and read about a health issue in specific regions in the United States. Some examples of the topics for your research could be:

• HIV or AIDS in African-Americans in Southern United States.
• Alcoholism in Native Americans in Midwestern United States.
• Diabetes among Navajo people in Southwest United States.
• Obesity among low-income children in Eastern United States.

Note: You may choose another population and region, these are just examples. You may also visit the Library of this course to gather data for your research.

Based on your research and data gathered, create a report in a 3- to 4-page Microsoft Word document, that addresses the following:

• The main issues being discussed and the message you wish to deliver to the affected population.
• Population affected.
• Age, gender, race, socioeconomic class, sexual orientation, religion, etc. of the target population.
• Segment of the United States population affected along with the percentage.
• Social factors such as culture and religion that may influence the burden of the disease.
• Ethical issues that may be factors in developing and implementing prevention and intervention programs for the disease.
• Various components of the health care system that can assist the community.
• Methods that the health care system should use to assist the community. (For example, state health care systems may revise or develop new policies to address the issue).

Support your responses with examples and a structured document free of spelling and grammatical errors, and appropriate references at the end of the document of sources you cited in the paper; Cite any sources in accordance to APA guidelines.

You have already developed a thesis statement and an outline in which you explored the peculiar institution known as slavery. Now you will develop the final paper in which you explore your main points in detail.

1. Introduce your paper with your previously crafted thesis statement.
2. Describe two (2) outcomes of the 3/5ths Compromise, Missouri Compromise of 1820, Compromise of 1850, Kansas-Nebraska Act, and the Dred Scott Decision. Note: Be sure to provide two (2) outcomes for each legislation.
3. Suggest three (3) reasons why slavery was and is incompatible with our political and economic system.
4. List three to five (3-5) driving forces that led to the Civil War.

Section 1: Written Business Plan

You are now in the final stage of the business plan development. All previous documentation must be combined into one (1) document that will serve as the statement of work for the business plan. Your goal is to have the plan approved by the executive team in the venture capital group. The business plan is very detailed. However, the executive team is only interested in a ten (10) minute summation. Therefore, you also must create a compelling executive summary, in which you justify your new product or service venture and how it would benefit the company. You will also include your conclusion and recommendations as the final part of your business plan.

Write a three to four (3-4) page executive summary in which you provide a high-level technical overview of your business plan.
Combine all previous documentation into one (1) document that will serve as the statement of work for the business plan where you address the following:
Part I of your business plan – Your business vision including business opportunities, business model, and feasibility analysis
Part II of your business plan – Competitive analysis and strategic assessment including competitive analysis, strategies and marketing tactics, risks and mitigation strategies, funding, strategic positions, and cost operating report
Part III of your business plan – Business initiative and technology including business initiative, technologies, and technology policies
Provide a conclusion and recommendations in which you:
Analyze the new business opportunity and the strategies undertaken to support this business initiative for the company.
Assess the benefits and explain the potential business growth of the new product or service. Note: Ensure to carefully evaluate each of the risks.

Section 2: Business Plan PowerPoint Presentation

In addition to your written executive summary, you will provide the venture capital group with a presentation addressing all major points of your business plan.

Create a nine to twelve (9-12) slide PowerPoint presentation in which you:
Illustrate all major points of your business plan. Note: Follow the outline of your paper, starting with the executive summary and make sure to use headings to identify the sections.
Provide a rationale for each major point of your business plan and justify why this venture should be undertaken.
Provide one (1) summary slide of the conclusion and recommendations.
Create bulleted speaking notes for the presentation to the executive board in the Notes section of the PowerPoint. Note: You may create or assume any fictitious names, data, or scenarios that have not been established in this assignment for a realistic flow of communication.
