Determine which project might be implemented and why (e.g. feasibility study, breakeven analysis, etc).

Review the Project Management email.

Write an email response in which you address the following points:

  • Determine which project might be implemented and why (e.g. feasibility study, breakeven analysis, etc).
  • Describe the five phases of a project
  • Describe the key deliverables associated with the selected project(s).

This paper should still have a cover page, reference page, and be formatted per APA standards; however, you can use whatever tone, format and language in the body of your paper that you feel would be appropriate for a formal email response.  Introductions, transitions and conclusions only need to be included if they would be in your return email.

Which of the characters this week did you feel the most sympathy for? Who did you most identify with? Why? Who did you feel the least sympathy for? Why?

Part One: Compose a paragraph that applies a Marxist reading to any of the stories from this week. Be sure to ask yourself ( and answer) the kinds of questions discussed in this week’s lecture.

Part Two: Which of the characters this week did you feel the most sympathy for? Who did you most identify with? Why? Who did you feel the least sympathy for? Why?

Part Three: In “The Open Boat,” lines of philosophy about man’s fate and his reward for trying hard are repeated throughout. Quote a line of this story that stands out to you as expressing something philosophical about life. Do you agree with the statement? Why or why not?

Identify the appropriate null and alternative hypotheses for this test. Express each in writing and in the form of an equation.

You are the manager of the Gander Mountain store in Frogtown, Illinois. Recently, a customer mentioned they believed your prices for ammunition were lower than the prices of Gander Mountain’s primary competitor in hunting equipment, Cabela’s. You would like to include that statement in a forthcoming print advertisement, so you need statistical evidence to support this assertion.

Identify the null and alternative hypotheses needed to test the contention. Then identify the most appropriate sample selection technique to gather data for testing the hypotheses. What statistical test should you use to accept or reject this hypothesis using the data you will collect?

Practical Application Scenario 2

Your love of golf has brought you back to the range as the new product manager for UniDun’s Straight Flight (SF) line of golf balls. The company’s research and development group has been experimenting with dimple patterns that promote straight flight and feel they have achieved some degree of success; however, you are worried about the effect that the new pattern might have on driving distance.

The Golf Ball Distances document contains test results that compare the driving distances for the two different kinds of balls: 40 balls of the new SF type and 40 of the current UniDun type. Your job is to determine if the current UniDun balls can be driven further than the new SF balls. To resolve this question, you need appropriate answers to the following four questions. Remember to use your Business Statistics in Practice textbook, the supplementary instruction session archives, and the optional course resources to help you answer each of the following questions:

  1. Identify the appropriate null and alternative hypotheses for this test. Express each in writing and in the form of an equation.
  2. Identify the appropriate statistical test to accept or reject the null hypothesis.
  3. Calculate the statistical parameters, the mean, variance, and standard deviation. Then calculate the statistical test and the p-value.
  4. In a three- to five-paragraph synopsis, explain your results to the vice president of marketing, including the terms of the scenario variables.

Hint: You will need to use Excel’s Analysis ToolPak, or the Mac equivalent, StatPlus:mac, to calculate the statistical parameters, the mean, variance, and standard deviation, and to calculate the statistical test that you have chosen and its p-value. SAS Enterprise Guide users do not need to first calculate the statistical parameters.

Practical Application Scenario 3

As the food court manager at the Mall of Elbonia, you must determine how much time customers spend at the mall during different times of the week (for example: midweek day; midweek evening; weekend day; weekend evening). Last week, the mall survey staff randomly surveyed mall visitors as they left the mall. One key question asked how much time the customer had spent in the mall on that day.

The findings from this study are provided in the document titled Mall Time Results, provided in Resources. Columns A through D show the time spent by the customers interviewed, according to the part of the week and time of day when the interviews occurred. Is there any statistically significant difference (at alpha = .05) in the average amount of time people spend in the mall based on the part of the week and time of day? To determine the answer to this question, you need appropriate answers to all of the following four questions. Remember to use your Business Statistics in Practice textbook, the supplementary instruction session archives, and the optional course resources to help you answer each question.

  • Identify the null and alternative hypotheses you should form for this test. Express each in writing and also in equation form.
  • Identify the appropriate statistical test to accept or reject the null hypothesis.
  • Calculate the appropriate statistical test values to accept or reject your null and alternative hypotheses.
  • What should you tell the Mall of Elbonia’s food court stores managers in terms of the mall’s high-traffic times and customer tendencies?

Examine the main events in the history of health insurance from the mid-twentieth century to the present. Explain how these events led up to the evolution of managed care organizations.

The History of Health Insurance and Managed Care

Health insurance began in the early part of the twentieth century as a means to protect an organization’s assets, either its financial assets or its manpower. Since the early days, health insurance evolved into a system of managed care in order to control issues such as overutilization, skyrocketing costs, limited restrictions, and low-quality care.

Using the South University Online library or the Internet, search for articles on health insurance and managed care. Based on your research, summarize your findings and answer the following questions:

  • Examine the main events in the history of health insurance from the mid-twentieth century to the present. Explain how these events led up to the evolution of managed care organizations.
  • Evaluate the purpose of health care insurance in the early days.
  • Evaluate the evolution of health insurance and managed care. What is the relationship between the two and how has managed care risen to prominence in today’s health care market?
  • Explain how the perspective of health insurance has or hasn’t changed in today’s managed care environment.
  • Analyze the public policy and market forces leading to the growth of managed care.
  • Analyze the current trends in managed care and its future in the context of health care reforms.

Based on your understanding, create a 4 page Microsoft Word document that includes the answers to the above questions.

Support your responses with examples.

Identify the types of aggression that occur in the category, as well as the age range of targets and perpetrators, the setting or context in which most types of the aggression occur, the severity of the category of aggression, and the frequency with which this form of aggression occurs.

  • For the category of aggression you selected for this assignment:
    • Identify the types of aggression that occur in the category, as well as the age range of targets and perpetrators, the setting or context in which most types of the aggression occur, the severity of the category of aggression, and the frequency with which this form of aggression occurs. Cite current statistics and be sure to reference your information sources appropriately.
    • Using the information from your readings, identify the sources of anger and the factors that may lead to anger being manifested as aggression for the category you have selected. Apply the general affective aggression model to this situation.
    • Finally, propose a brief summary in which you explain how you would go about reducing aggression in this category.

Explain how stepwise management assists health care providers and patients in gaining and maintaining control of the disease.

•Consider drugs used to treat asthmatic patients including long-term control and quick relief treatment options for patients. Think about the impact these drugs might have on patients including adults and children.

•Review Chapter 25 of the Arcangelo and Peterson text. Reflect on using the stepwise approach to asthma treatment and management.

•Consider how stepwise management assists health care providers and patients in gaining and maintaining control of the disease.

To complete:

Write a 2- to 3- page paper that addresses the following:

•Describe long-term control and quick relief treatment options for asthma patients, as well as the impact these drugs might have on patients.
