Successfully introducing a new business product or service requires significant planning. Forecasting allows the company to estimate the extent of the changes in operations by looking at levels, trends, and seasonality of the demand for the product or service.

A scheduling tool such as a Gantt chart, program (or project) evaluation and review technique (PERT) chart, or work breakdown structure (WBS) provides a way to identify and organize required activities into a logical order.

In this assignment, you will select a project-scheduling tool and use it to develop the business flow for the rollout of a new product or service. For example, a call center is considered a service operation. The new service rollout could be the expansion of the call center to a second location or establishing the call center overseas. In a manufacturing environment, such as a mattress manufacturer, the rollout of a new product could be the expansion of the product line to include futons. In the automotive industry, the rollout could be the expansion of the product line to include hybrid vehicles.

Using the module readings, the Argosy University online library resources, and the Internet, identify and select a company you will use for this assignment. This company must be different from the one chosen for M2: Assignment 2. Then, complete the following:

• Describe the business operation you are considering for the forecast and scheduling of your expansion.
• What type of forecasting method would be appropriate for the company and the product or service selected? Why?
• Choose one of the following project scheduling tools: Gantt chart, PERT chart, or work breakdown structure (WBS).
• Use the chosen scheduling tool to document the scheduling process for the rollout of a new product or service.
• Provide a rationale for the selection of the scheduling tool.

Submit a 2–3-page paper in Word format and attach a Gantt chart, a PERT chart, or a WBS developed in MS Project. For the development of the Gantt or PERT chart, you can also download a trial version of visual or graphic design software such as SmartDraw. Include a minimum of three scholarly articles to complete your research. Your writing should be clear, concise, and organized. Demonstrate ethical scholarship in accurate representation and attribution of resources. Display accurate spelling, grammar, punctuation, and APA formatting for citing of sources.

Supply Chain
Managing a business supply chain involves maximizing the flow of materials and information from raw materials to finished product. The strategy for carrying out individual components of the process is affected by and may be changed due to many things including industry, current product life cycle stage, production and delivery costs, product profitability, and competition. For example, a company in the manufacturing industry could build a second warehouse closer to its customers if delivery costs increased. An example in the service industry would be a restaurant changing vendors due to increased material costs.
In this assignment, you will identify the supply chain process and strategy for the operations of a business from either the service industry or manufacturing industry.
Using the module readings, the Argosy University online library resources, and the Internet, address the following:
• Identify a product or service and assess the location where the company offers it in the supply chain. Define the stage in the product life cycle.
• Develop a questionnaire with 10–12 questions that will allow you to do the following:
o Explain what the company does to protect its business and manage risks.
o Analyze cost savings by determining the return on investment (ROI) for one product offered by the company.
o Identify the company’s competitors and determine who owns what market share for the product.
o Evaluate how the company manages production or delivery of service.
• Defend your choice of questions and support your selection with scholarly articles.
Your final product will include two deliverables. In addition to submitting your questionnaire, submit a 2–3-page paper in Word format. Include a minimum of three scholarly articles to complete your research. Your writing should be clear, concise, and organized. For this assignment you will be continuing to write about your own workplace experiences as they relate to power and politics. Think of one of the largest political battles you witnessed or were apart of during your career, and think carefully about how the concepts from the background materials apply to what you experienced.

In preparation for the SLP, make sure you have a thorough grasp of the terminology from the background materials including the main individual and organizational factors that lead to political behavior and the types of political behavior. Once you are comfortable with the terminology and concepts from the background materials, write a 2- to 3-page paper addressing the following issues:

3. What types of political behaviors did your coworkers exhibit in your political battle? Be specific and use the types of political behaviors discussed by Nair (2010) and Aswathappa (2010).
4. Do you think any of the participants behaved unethically during this political battle? Consider the factors of utility, individual rights, and distributive justice discussed by Nair (2010) and Aswathappa (2010) in your answer.

Using the data you collected in the Module 1 SLP, write a paper (1–3 pages) including all of the following content:

• Calculate the mean, median, and mode of your collected data. Show and explain your calculations.
• Are these numbers higher or lower than you expected? Explain.
• Which of these measures of central tendency do you think most accurately describes the variable you are looking at? Provide your justification.
• Create a box plot to represent the data, labeling and numerating all 5 points on the box plot. For the plot, you may draw and insert it in your paper as a picture. Make sure it is legible.

Coogly Company is attempting to identify its weighted average cost of capital for the coming year and has hired you to answer some questions they have about the process. They have asked you to present this information in a PowerPoint presentation to the company’s management team.  The company would like for you to keep your presentation to approximately 10 slides and use the notes section in PowerPoint to clarify your point. Your presentation should address the following questions and offer a final recommendation to Coogly. Make sure you support your answers and clearly explain the advantages and disadvantages of utilizing the weighted average cost of capital methodology. Company Information

The capital structure for the firm will be maintained and is now 10% preferred stock, 30% debt, and 60% new common stock.  No retained earnings are available.   The marginal tax rate for the firm is 40%.

1. Coogly has outstanding preferred stock That pays a dividend of $4 per share and sells for $82 per share, with a floatation cost of $6 per share. What is the component cost for Coogly’s preferred stock? What are the advantages and disadvantages of using preferred stock in the capital structure?
2. If the company issues new common stock, it will sell for $50 per share with a floatation cost of $9 per share. The last dividend paid was $3.80 and this dividend is expected to grow at a rate of 7% for the foreseeable future. What is the cost of new equity to the firm? 3. The company will use new bonds for any capital project, according to the capital structure. These bonds will have a market and par value of $1000, with a coupon rate of 6% and a floatation cost of 7%. The bonds will mature in 20 years and no other debt will be used for any new investments. What is the cost of new debt? What are the advantages and disadvantages of issuing new debt in the capital structure?
4. Given the component costs identified above and the capital structure for the firm, what is the weighted average cost of capital for Coogly? What are the advantages and disadvantages of using this method in the capital budgeting process?
