“Classical Music; Early Abolitionist Art and Literature” Please respond to one (1) of the following, using sources under the Explore heading as the basis of your response:

Listen to one (1) composition (for a symphony) by Haydn or Mozart, either at the Websites below or in this week’s Music Folder. Identify the work that you have chosen, and describe the way in which the composition expresses the specific qualities of the Classical music style. Use the key terms from the textbook that are related to that particular music style, and explain what you like or admire about the work. Compare it to a specific modern musical work for which you might use the term “classic” or “classical”.

Explain whether you think an autobiographical or fictional account by a slave (such as Phillis Wheatley and Olaudah Equiano) is more persuasive than a biographical or fictional account by a white author (such as John Gabriel Stedman or Aphra Behn). Explain whether you believe the representations of slavery in the visual arts (such as William Blake’s illustrations, William Hackwood’s cameo, or John Singleton Copley’s painting) were more compelling and convincing of the injustices of slavery than the literary representations already mentioned. In your explanations, use specific examples and consider both audience and the content and nature of the work. Identify the literary or art form in modern times that you think is most effective at depicting injustice.

Managed Care Models

Managed care’s level of control and relationships with medical service providers has been described on a continuum of control from the least controlled managed care model to the most restrictive as:

• Tighter elements of control over health care delivery
• More direct interaction with providers
• Increased overhead cost and complexity
• Greater control of utilization
• Increased control on quality

The continuum of managed care models helps to understand the level of control for access, quality, and costs for each model. It is also true that managed care models are influenced by the market they serve. The geographic region impacts the design of managed care models. On the basis of what you learned in your readings of this week and the information provided in this assignment, answer the following questions:

• Examine the importance of the continuum in understanding the differences among managed care plans.
• Identify an MCO functioning in both your area and in some other parts of the country (for example, BCBS of California and BCBS of Georgia). Compare the organizations relative to the type of managed care products each offers.
• Compare and contrast your findings with what you learned in readings this week.
• If you were an employer looking for a managed care product for your employees, which of these three: HMO, PPO, or CDHP would you choose and why?

After answering the above questions, read the following information:

There are several key elements required in a physician’s contract with an MCO. A typical contract between an MCO and a physician specifies the types of services offered, the number of members or lives covered in the plan, the standards and credentials needed to be maintained by the provider, and, of course, compensation. Utilize your readings and search the South University Online library or the Internet to answer the following questions:

Question 2. Explain and evaluate two mandated or proposed policies from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (C.M.S.) or any other branch of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in the past three years that could have a substantial financial effect on a health care provider (e.g., doctor, hospital, long-term health care facility, pharmaceutical company).  Describe the policies and explain the potential effects. Write a report of no more than 2,000 words for Part 1 of the plan including the following:

You probably have noticed in your educational career that some people are very good at remembering facts and therefore, do well at tests that require memorization. Other students, on the other hand, struggle with tests that require memorization.  To understand how memory works, this exercise will ask you to trace the memory system from the stimuli to long-term memory.

Use your textbook and research from the Internet to learn the process of memory, from beginning to end. Your description should include the following:

• Identification and description of each step in the human memory model; as you describe these steps, use an example to illustrate the process
• Discussion of factors that enhance or impede information flow in each step of the process
• Explanation of proactive and retroactive interference and how you might counteract their effects while studying to facilitate maximum retention via long-term memory
• Explanation of other kinds of forgetting and a discussion of strategies that can improve memory consolidation and retrieval

Antimicrobial agents are essential components in the treatment of various bacterial infections as they help to kill or prevent the growth of microbes such as bacteria, fungi, and protozoans. Prior to the discovery of antimicrobial agents, treatment options for patients with bacterial infections were limited. For many patients, treatment often resulted in the amputation of limbs or even death. Today, treatment options for bacterial infections typically have a more positive prognosis. Due to the various types of infections presented in patients, it is essential to be able to identify the underlying cause of the infection—whether bacterial or viral—before recommending drug treatments. This will help you identify whether or not an antimicrobial agent would be appropriate and which specific agent would target the infection. In this Assignment, you consider the appropriate use of antimicrobial agents for infections.
