Parents, guardians, and grandparents duties as a caretaker should ensure that their offspring’s are in good health and living in a safe/ stable environment.  As adults it is our responsibility to help mold kids based on the skills and resources to succeed as adults, and transmit basic cultural values to them.  As a parent/guardian/grandparent the most cherished framework for a child for a child is to love and protect them. Protection of children goes hand and hand with teaching them and helping them develop personalities and characteristics of who they are.

Growing up from a child to an adult was a bit overwhelming for me. I was raised by my grandparents since the age of five. Both of my parents were absent throughout my childhood. The role of my grandparents played a big part in my upbringing. Experiencing my grand parents raise me verses my parents was frustrating, because I felt as though they both were picking up the slack from my unfit parents. I wanted to experience teachings of life lessons, seek advice about peer pressure in school, and gain cultural values from my parents. Although my grandparents did a phenomenal job raising me the best way they could, I would have preferred experiencing my childhood with my parents. I always felt that I suffered not having both of my parents being apart of my life do to the poor decisions my biological parents made. Those poor decisions resulted with my grandparents substituting the role as my caretaker.

Family member’s continuously encouraged me to stay in school and further my studies in college. In spite of my parents poor decisions which resulting in them loosing custody of myself, I am thankful my grandparents parenting styles. Both of them provided a safe and secure home. My grandparent provided love, and nurturing, and involvement to the best of their capability.

The role of grandparents in the nurturing of healthy and happy kids shouldn’t be ignored. Studies has indicated concluded that spending time with a grandparent is linked with better social skills and fewer behavior problems among teenagers, especially those living in single-parent or stepfamily households. This study found that children and teenagers whose parents have separated or divorced see their grandparents as confidants and sources of comfort. In fact, supportive relationships with other family members outside the immediate family may lead to better adjustment for all children and teenagers. Defining Economic Justice

Economic justice, which touches the individual person as well as the social order, encompasses the moral principles which guide us in designing our economic institutions. These institutions determine how each person earns a living, enters into contracts, exchanges goods and services with others and otherwise produces an independent material foundation for his or her economic sustenance. The ultimate purpose of economic justice is to free each person to engage creatively in the unlimited work beyond economics, that of the mind and the spirit.

The Three Principles of Economic Justice

Like every system, economic justice involves input, output, and feedback for restoring harmony or balance between input and output. Within the system of economic justice as defined by Louis Kelso and Mortimer Adler, there are three essential and interdependent principles: Participative Justice (the input principle), Distributive Justice (the out-take principle), and Social Justice (the feedback principle). Like the legs of a three-legged stool, if any of these principles is weakened or missing, the system of economic justice will collapse.

You are the manager of Acme Fireworks, a fireworks retailer who sells fireworks, puts on ground display fireworks, and large aerial display fireworks. The company started in the owner’s garage two years ago and now has 15 employees that you manage. The company started as a sole proprietorship, and the owner has never changed the entity. The owner has informed you that the company has received inquiries from several large businesses wondering if the company could create several fireworks displays on a regular basis. The owner told the inquirers that the company could fill such display orders, and a price per display was agreed upon. It was discussed that most of the cost for a fireworks display is for skilled labor, insurance, and the actual service of setting off the fireworks. No other details were discussed. The owner is anticipating that new employees will need to be hired, but he is worried that if the large orders for fireworks displays do not continue, the company will not have the funds to pay the new employees. The owner is now considering changing the business entity, but he does not know what entity to form or how to form it.

The owner has asked you to do the following:

• Determine if the contracts with the businesses will be governed by common law or the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), and explain why.
• Analyze whether the owner formed a contract with the businesses, and apply the five essential elements of an enforceable contract.
• Explain the potential personal liability to Acme Fireworks if a spectator is injured by a stray firework from a fireworks display.
• Discuss the different employment types and relationships relevant to agency law, and analyze the advantages and disadvantages of each type specific to Acme Fireworks.
• Explain why Acme Fireworks should not operate as a sole proprietorship. Recommend a new business entity, and provide rationale to support your recommendation.

The three branches of our government each play crucial roles in the U.S. national government. Each branch has specific power, duties, and responsibilities that are the most apparent features of our system of separate powers. Nevertheless, each branch has been critiqued for having definite strengths and weaknesses that become obvious in certain situations. Petrie’s Electronics Case Questions Solutions

2. Again, review the DFDs you developed for the Petrie’s Electronics case. (I have placed the level 1 diagrams in the Project Workbook – Week 3 folder in doc sharing, use your homework solution for the Record Customer Activities level 1).

Use these DFDs to identify the attributes of each of the six entities listed in this case, using Figure PE Figure 7-1; I have also placed the Visio diagram in doc sharing, Project Workbook – Week 4).

Write an unambiguous definition for each attribute. Then, redraw PE Figure 7-1 by placing the six (and additional) entities in this case on the diagram along with their associated attributes.

List at least 2 attributes for each of the six entities and describe then in a short sentence or bullet statement. Then redraw PE Fig 7-1 to look like figure 7-21.

 

 

 

3. Using your answer to Question 2, designate which attribute or attributes form the identifier for each entity type. Explain why you chose each identifier.

Look in the book for the definition of an identifier – an attribute that will make each entity unique (sometimes called candidates Key or primary keys; i.e. student ID etc.).
