• Find three articles relevant to your research problem with a minimum of one being peer-reviewed. Sources of non-peer reviewed articles may be trade journals or other sources recommended by your instructor.
• Provide a brief summary of each article by selecting relevant research that addresses the variables in the research question(s) of the article.
• Use an in-text citation and reference for each article.

The core assignment of this course is a documented research paper (1500-2000 words in length = approx. 6 – 8 pages double spaced, 12-point font).

• The paper should support a thesis statement with information gained from research or investigation.
• The paper will not be just a report presenting information, but will be a paper that carefully examines and presents your own historical interpretation of the topic you have chosen and your interpretation of the information you have gathered.
• The paper may include consideration of problems and solutions, define key terms, or refute arguments against your thesis statement.

It will be important to choose a topic of interest to you.

• Approach this assignment with an open and skeptical mind, then form an opinion based on what you have discovered.
• You must suspend belief while you are investigating and let the discoveries shape your opinion. (This is a thesis-finding approach.)
• Once you have found your thesis, write the paper to support it.

You will use some of the following critical thinking skills in this process:

1. Choosing an appropriate topic, limiting the topic
2. Gathering information, summarizing sources
3. Analyzing and evaluating sources
4. Defining key terms
5. Synthesizing information, comparing and contrasting sources
6. Testing a thesis, making a historical argument, using refutation
7. Amassing support for a position
8. Documenting sources

Because this may be a longer paper than you have written before and a complex process is involved, it is recommended that you complete this paper using the following steps:

1. Choose a topic related to U.S. History up to 1877 (Chapters 1-15) that you would truly like to explore and that you are willing to spend some time on. Your chosen topic should be focused. Pose a question that you really want to answer. You may want to begin with more than one topic in mind.
2. Do some preliminary reading on the topic(s). You may begin with the textbook, then further explore the information available. Refine your topic. Summarize your topic, your interest in the topic, the questions you want to answer, and a hypothesis you want to test.
3. Gather information from a variety of sources. Use a minimum of four sources for your paper, and at least one must be a primary source.
   • Examples of primary sources are ones that are used in our discussion forums 2 – 8.
   • They are sources that are contemporary to the times under investigation.
   • An example of a secondary source is our textbook, though the textbook also contains excerpts of primary sources, which you may use as a source in your paper.
4. Outline the results of your research and the plan for your paper (you are not required to submit the outline).
5. Write the final draft and be sure to include a Works Cited List, and use the correct MLA documentation style.

I Have Chosen the four readings that i would want this paper to include, also the professor wants me to include what “I think of the stories and how it relates to me agreeing that women shouldnt be what society wants them to be”. that being said, using the four readings i chosen i want you to relate those readings in a an way possible to support my idea on that women shouldnt be treated like housewifes and should have the same or almost the same rights as men. and not be judged by society. This paper has to have a Cover Page, and a works cited page(Using the four readings) and the essay has to be MLA double spaced format and 5 pages long, so a total of 7 pages with the cover page and works cited.   ))) Here is the Rubric below 

 

 

Throughout the first half of the semester, we’ve explored the role of women as seen through the

 

Mexican Literature we’ve encountered. As a class we’ve discussed the ways these narratives

 

have been developed since the arrival of the Spanish. Two women have defined Mexico,

 

socially, culturally, religiously, and historically: La Malinche and La Virgen de Guadalupe.

 

Using the literature you have read in class thus far:

 

1. Explain the role of women in Mexico and their narratives.

 

2. Describe how these narratives affected your own views towards women.

 

3. Finally explain your position on the following:

 

Is is justified for la Malinche to be considered a traitor to Mexico? Consider every

• Describe the culture of the organization and how the symbols convey the culture.
• Describe the strengths and weaknesses of the organization from a cultural perspective.
• Explain what could be changed with the culture of the organization, pertaining to the weaknesses you identified and suggest ways of accomplishing the change. If the culture is one you would like sustained, what needs to be in place to assure its perpetuation even when top managers change?

The director of the new adult community chemical addictions rehab center has asked you to research 2 current models of addiction to use in the center. As explained in the textbook, UNIX / Linux initially only provided a command line interface for interaction with the operating system (OS). The introduction of a Graphical User Interface (GUI) to UNIX / Linux OS makes it easier to administer a Linux system.

1. Discuss the primary advantages of GUI over a textual (command-line) interface in Linux system administration.
2. Describe two (2) Fedora / Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) GUI desktop managers and explain how they generally function.

Conflict Identification and Resolution

 

We live in a very complex and culturally diverse society. When we bring individuals together from diverse backgrounds in a work environment conflict can arise when expectations are not realized or met. Rather than hoping conflict will go away, this paper will explore and identify the reasons for conflict and how to successfully address them in a team environment.

 

Write a four- to five-page paper (excluding title and reference pages) assessing the components of conflict. The following need to be addressed within your paper:

Describe a conflict within an organization or team with which you are familiar.

Identify and describe the source(s) and level of the conflict and support with evidence.

Describe the steps taken to resolve the conflict or, if it is an ongoing conflict, propose steps to resolve the conflict.
