How does the document use the scriptures of these 2 traditions to argue that they should not view each other as enemies?

Please read the document posted under the “A Common Word” file for this assignment. You only need to read through page 74… I included the footnotes there at the end in case you wanted to follow up on any of them.

1. What do you think is the thesis or main goal of this document?

2. Towards the end of the document, it explains that the task of finding common ground is not simply an exercise for religious leaders and scholars to engage in so that they aren’t bored. Why do the authors of the document think this task is so important for this world?

3. Love of neighbor is obviously critical in this document. Explain how this love is about more than empathy/sympathy for both Muslims and Christians, according to this document.

4. Evaluate (in other words, say whether you agree and why/why not) the following claim based on your reading of the document: “This document does not ignore that there are significant differences between religious traditions, but succeeds at finding common ground through a close analysis of the scriptures of each tradition.”

5. How does the document use the scriptures of these 2 traditions to argue that they should not view each other as enemies?

    • What are some of the methods money launderers use in cyberspace to conceal illegitimate transactions?

Identify the products and sites for your sources and share screen shots of the images in your document.

Assignment instruction:

Conduct on-line research for two different page designs for a similar product or service, such as on-line insurance advertisements, prescription advertisements and so forth. Then, using our chapter readings as your guide, analyze the design for these presentations.  Report your analysis to the Instructor in a business memo format:

— Write a short memo to the Instructor, in which you analyze the purpose and execution of 2 related design elements from these sites, based on our chapter reading.

— Offer comments as to which is better and why; which is more visually appealing and why; which seems to be more reader-focused and why and so on.

— Identify the products and sites for your sources and share screen shots of the images in your document.  Since research is involved, you must cite both in-text and on a References or Works Cited page appropriately.

— Save as .doc files, as Rich Text will not handle graphics well.

Your Instructor will assess your work in terms of the following, at minimum:

— demonstration of effective business document style

— effective commentary on current chapter concepts and ideas as they relate to your selections for the analysis

— grammar, mechanics, and usage

Feedback from professor:

You need to do in-text citations and a reference page for any imagery you borrow from the web.  Please keep this in mind going forward.  Just providing the URLs is not enough.  Be careful with your page length.  This is a little short.  Make sure to proofread.  You have some missing grammatical elements…. most notably commas.  You are also missing a few articles.

How is domestic violence similar in India, Japan, Vietnam, and Africa? How does it differ?

Domestic Violence: A Cross-Cultural View. Elaine Leeder,

CRITICAL-THINKING QUESTIONS ( Answer these questions ).

1. How is domestic violence similar in India, Japan, Vietnam, and Africa? How does it differ? Also, Leeder notes that rising industrialization and modernization increase the likelihood of family violence. Why, then, is wife battering also common in industrialized countries such as Japan and the United States?

2. Why do most of the women in these countries never complain about domestic violence? What individual, legal, historical, and cultural factors help explain their silence?

3. Leeder urges the reader to suspend “any ethno- centric value judgments” about family violence. What does she mean? And, if we do so, does this

mean that the global community shouldn’t inter- fere with a country’s violent practices against women and children?

Analyze article on Self-Esteem and Bullying.

Discussion 1 – Discuss in 150 + Words with in text citations – Analyze article on Self-Esteem and Bullying

People with high self-esteem may believe they are above the law and can do anything they want.  The following article provides a perspective on narcissism, bullying and self-esteem.

Bullying is a behavior seen by those with high self-esteem..or higher than average self-esteem. Hitler is an example of a person with higher than average self-esteem. Throughout much research on Hitler, he was never found to have anything other than higher than usual self-esteem. My thought is that his profile fits what this article demonstrates very well. I am interested in knowing your thoughts.
