Hi, this is a 3 page essay due tomorrow, which is Monday, October 19th at 5:00 pm. The format is 12 times new roman, double-spaced.  I know there is not much time left, but the essay is easy and does not require much research. Attached are some notes my professor gave us that have some terms and definitions. The essay MUST incorporate some of the terms from the notes. This is the question: Which demographic shifts, if any, do you feel will have a noticeable impact on the market for the following in the next 10 years? The choices are

It is important to understand that human services are broad in spectrum and consist of many types of service delivery, including mental health, child welfare, medical care, public assistance, and corrections. In addition, human services organizations have varying organizational structures. There are different types of funding sources, legislation, and standards that influence how an agency will function to serve the clients in its community. For example, some agencies receive public funding to operate and must follow standards set down by those funding sources when providing services and running the agency. On the other hand, there are facilities that receive their revenues primarily from private funding, commercial insurance, or self-payment from clients and may not have to follow the same guidelines to operate the agency.

In this assignment, you will explore different types of human services organizations and select two types of organizations (for example, health, mental health, child welfare, or education) to draw comparisons between them. You will examine how the related funding sources, legislation, and standards interact with one another to influence service delivery.

Tasks:

Using your textbook, the Argosy University online library resources, and the Internet, complete the following:

• In a 3- to 4-page report, address the following:
  • The history and scope of services of the selected human services organizations
  • The administrative operations of each agency
  • The legislation that has influenced the services and type of agencies selected
  • The major differences between the agency models of service delivery, organizational structure, funding sources, and how they evaluate their effectiveness (for example, outcome measures)
• Identify two provisional factors (for example, performance outcome measures) that have direct implications on direct service.
  • Discuss their effects, positive or negative, on the agency as well as the service provider.
  • Provide your opinion on the costs and benefits of regulated operational standards on the effectiveness of services.

Submission Details:

• By Wednesday, October 28, 2015, prepare a 3- to 4-page report. Your response should rely upon at least three sources from professional literature. This may include the Argosy University online library resources, relevant textbooks, peer-reviewed journal articles, and websites created by professional organizations, agencies, or institutions (.edu, .org, or .gov). Write in a clear, concise, and organized manner; demonstrate ethical scholarship in accurate representation and attribution of sources (i.e., APA format); and use accurate spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

This assignment brings developmental theory to life through live observation. You will have the opportunity to practice making service recommendations for a family based on the developmental prognosis of the individual you observe.

Tasks:

Conduct a forty-five- to sixty-minute live observation of a young adult. In addition to conducting an observation, you may also choose to interview the young adult. Keep in mind the following guidelines:

• Only use first names or pseudonyms in your paper.
• Do not observe someone who is related to you.
• Do not attempt to engage in a counseling role; this assignment strictly involves only observing or interviewing.

Write a 3- to 4-page detailed description of the young adult’s physical, cognitive, and psychosocial development. What would developmental theorists say about the cognitive and the psychosocial development of the young adult? In addition, include the following information:

• Date, time, location, and length of observation
• Age, sex, and race or ethnicity
• Defining physical characteristics
• Estimated socioeconomic status (SES)
• Description of interaction with caregivers
• Daily routine
• Description of other relevant behaviors exhibited during observation
• Any other information

Note that SES has a profound impact on development. You can estimate the SES level based on neighborhood, clothing, or automobiles.

Be sure to provide detailed examples and use multiple developmental theories to support your observations. Consider multicontextual influences on development. Also, provide a developmental prognosis and make service recommendations, if needed. Justify your recommendations with information from the textbook, recommended readings, and/or peer-reviewed journal articles.

If you determine no services are needed, provide a justification. For example, if the young adult you observe is not meeting the developmental milestones associated with young adulthood, provide suggestions for services that would promote healthy development.

Note: Do not share a prognosis or service recommendations with the young adult. This information is for class purposes only. Also keep in mind that the more familiar you are with the relevant developmental theory for this age range, the more you will know what is significant during your observation.

Write a 1,200 word paper in which you examine visual information processing. Address the following in your paper:

• Describe visual information processing.
• Explain two conditions that impair visual information processing.
• Discuss current trends in the research of visual information processing and how they advance understanding of visual information processing.

Include at least two scholarly articles.

Application: Gastrointestinal Tract: Disorders of Motility

Jamie is a 3-month-old female who presents with her mother for evaluation of “throwing up.” Mom reports that Jamie has been throwing up pretty much all the time since she was born. Jamie does not seem to be sick. In fact, she drinks her formula vigorously and often acts hungry. Jamie has normal soft brown bowel movements every day and, overall, seems like a happy and contented baby. She smiles readily and does not cry often. Other than the fact that she often throws up after drinking a bottle, she seems to be a very healthy, happy infant. A more precise history suggests that Jamie does not exactly throw up—she does not heave or act unwell—but rather it just seems that almost every time she drinks a bottle she regurgitates a milky substance. Mom thought that she might be allergic to her formula and switched her to a hypoallergenic formula. It didn’t appear to help at all, and now Mom is very concerned.

Cases like these are not uncommon. The mother was concerned and thinking her daughter may have an allergy; she changed to a different formula. However, sometimes babies have immature GI tracts that can lead to physiology reflux as they adapt to normal life outside the uterus. Parents often do not consider this possibility, prompting them to change formulas rather than seeking medical care. As in the case study above, GI alterations can often be difficult to identify because many cause similar symptoms. This same issue also arises with adults—adults may present with symptoms that have various potential causes. When evaluating patients, it is important for the advanced practice nurse to know the types of questions he or she needs to ask to obtain the appropriate information for diagnosis. For this reason, you must have an understanding of common GI disorders such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcer disease (PUD), and gastritis.

To prepare:

• Review this week’s media presentation on the gastrointestinal system.
• Review Chapter 33 in the Huether and McCance text. Identify the normal pathophysiology of gastric acid stimulation and production.
• Review Chapter 35 in the Huether and McCance text. Consider the pathophysiology of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcer disease (PUD), and gastritis. Think about how these disorders are similar and different.
• Select a patient factor different from the one you selected in this week’s Discussion: genetics, gender, ethnicity, age, or behavior. Consider how the factor you selected might impact the pathophysiology of GERD, PUD, and gastritis. Reflect on how you would diagnose and prescribe treatment of these disorders for a patient based on this factor.
• Review the “Mind Maps—Dementia, Endocarditis, and Gastro-oesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)” media in the Week 2 Learning Resources. Use the examples in the media as a guide to construct a mind map for gastritis. Consider the epidemiology and clinical presentation of gastritis.

To complete:

Write a 2- to 3-page paper that addresses the following:

• Describe the normal pathophysiology of gastric acid stimulation and production. Explain the changes that occur to gastric acid stimulation and production with GERD, PUD, and gastritis disorders.
• Explain how the factor you selected might impact the pathophysiology of GERD, PUD, and gastritis. Describe how you would diagnose and prescribe treatment of these disorders for a patient based on the factor you selected.
• Construct a mind map for gastritis. Include the epidemiology, pathophysiology, and clinical presentation, as well as the diagnosis and treatment you explained in your paper.

 Find at least two research articles that evaluate the success of mental health service programs for mentally ill populations in prisons. This assignment is a research paper. In paragraph form, please provide a thorough and integrated response to all questions that follow:

• How do these services benefit the prisoners? How do these compare to the services already available through the existing criminal justice system?

Managed care is a complex system involved in the financing and delivery of health care.  The main goals of this system are to control access, quality, and cost of health care.  MCOs have complex relationships or contracts with buyers (employers or individuals), providers (health care facilities and physicians), and consumers (patients).  to this end, there is a need for complex management structures to organize and oversee these relationships.

There are six different medical management committees typically formed within an MCO.  Some serve operational purposes while others serve to meet regulatory and quality standard functions.  Refer to the readings of this week and answer the following questions:

• Researcsh a Managed Care Organization [MCO] (e.g. Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Humana, etc.) online.  Discuss the similarities and differences between six medical management committees of an MCO.
• Analyze the main role of each committee on the basis of your research.
• Explain out of the six committiees, which committee do you feel is the least important.  State your resoning using specific examples from your research.
• In addition, how is the information you found online similar and/or different from what is described in your readings?

After answering the above questions, read the following information:

The development of MCOs has been influenced by the type of market they serve.  For example, BCBS companies moved from primarily a service plan provider to a multiproduct line that includes HMO, PPO, and consumer choice plans.  In addition, various types of managed care organizations have emerged due to forces imposed by the state and the federal governments, such as the HMO Act of 1973.  Answer the following questions keeping in mind the above information:

• Examine how public policy has impacted the growth of managed care.
• Evaluate the impact of one federal and one state-level policy.
• Compare and contrast the ways the policy caused the managed care market to grow or retract.

After reading “Nintendo’s Disruptive Strategy: Implications for the Video Game Industry,” discuss the following items in a paper of 1,000-1,250 words:

1. Discuss the evolution of the video game industry in terms of competition and technology.
2. What does disruptive strategy mean? What are the principles behind it?
3. Analyze Nintendo’s disruptive strategy in detail. What are the main features of this strategy that have made the Wii such an overwhelming success?
