I believe that within each family, family values are inclusive of all groups.  Similar to Joelle’s post, I believe that at the root of each family, regardless of how it appears to the outside looking in, we share common values.

However, I also agree that as a society, we do not include all types of families in our societal “family values.”  Many people still view families as very traditional, and do not include families that are blended, same-sex, or single parent families, and do not believe that their values could be upheld in a family that is different from theirs.  If we look at true family values such as providing financially for our children, and providing basic needs, there should be no discrimination.  Any type of family can provide these values.

You have learned about the different aspects of memory in the previous modules. Language is critical not only to communicate with others but also to memory. Many memories are encoded using language. Memory is much more rudimentary when language skills are not present.
