Energy/PBT

Instructions: While searching the web for forum topics, search for case studies that involve energy pollution problems from its production, use and mitigation measures OR a case study that involves persistent, bio-accumulative, and toxic (PBT) substances and mitigation measures. Write a brief (one page minimum) summary of a case study that interests you.

A case study should be about one specific site or incident that occurred…not a generic summary of a topic that interests you. Also, remember that good communication skills (and in particular, writing) are necessary for any pollution manager to document what’s been done, how, when, where, why, and with what results.

Submit your case study summary in the Assignments Section of the classroom for credit. Again…if you did not use this last week to write about a specific case…here is a web site to use:

costperformance.org/search.cfm

From this web page, you can search for case studies by Media/Matrix (e.g., sediments, sludge, soils, etc.), by Primary and Supplemental Technologies, by Site Name, or by Location. OR, you can click on “Display All Case Studies” at the bottom of the page. Many of these case studies are located on military installations, but not all. You can also search other sites, but you MUST include the web addresses and citations for journal articles, theses, etc. in your summary and cite them correctly for credit.

pH

In one of the Hazmat Textbooks I have read said \”If you have an acid (or base) without a water component, the reading from pH paper is meaningless.\” Based on this statement, a first responder could apply a little water to the pH paper before using it to measure the pH of an unknown liquid.

Please discuss why you agree or disagree with wetting the pH paper before using it.

Please include a REFERENCE(S) (journal article, book, website, etc..) or specific example to support your discussion.

Local Air Pollution

identify an air pollutant where you live, or in an area you have lived or would like to live. What are the sources of this pollutant and how might it affect human health and the environment? Please cite at lease two scholarly sources. I consider the EPA or a state/local environmental regulatory agency as an acceptable source as well as science and legal based sources that are peer reviewed.

The following short video provides an overview of many of the issues that will be covered during the term. Please review and you may want to refer back to his in later forums.

US Freshwater Summary

Instructions: Research the history of freshwater pollution regulations in the US and write a brief (one page minimum) summary of the laws and regulations that have been enacted to date. This can be done in a bullet format, outline or paragraph. Be accurate and concise, citing your sources correctly.

Make sure all dates, years are included.

you are to work through another two interactive demos or articles on domain name serving:

Free Router Simulator Softwares (2010), Retrieved from

Free Router Simulator Softwares

Tamang, P. (n.d.). Simulation of DNS(Domain Name System) Using SimLib. Retrieved from http://www.cs.lamar.edu/faculty/osborne/simulation/Report4.pdf

Please use this link and work on any demo or white paper for your SLP.

The more of the tutorials you can work through, the better; however, your grade is primarily dependent on how you approach the task and how much learning energy you put into it rather than specific output from the tutorial.

prepare a 2- to 3-page report covering the following topics:

A brief description of the tutorial and what it teaches
Key new language learned, including major technical terms; please provide brief definitions for these, and indicate why they are important.
Any areas of uncertainty left by the tutorial; does it leave you believing that you need to know more about some topics?
Your evaluation of and experiences with the tutorial as you checked it out

csc424 case 3

For this Case Assignment, you will select an application and prepare a series of test cases to address several areas of software tests that would apply to the application.

Describe the application you selected as the basis for this case assignment.
Prepare at least one test case to show that the application you selected provides high quality in the following areas:
Human Computer Interface
Usability
Reliability
Security
Conformance to Specifications

itm441 case 3

Should municipal Wi-Fi continue to be pursued? If so, should this be left to the private sector, government sector, or both?

csc425 slp 3

The Beta version should address the following requirements:

The application should match the design created earlier in the course with the exception of any changes required to address problems or conform to a revised timeline.
All functionality should be operational, although some problems may be present
Connections to outside components should be functioning at the complete level required to support program functionality.
The visual interface should be complete.
There should complete functionality with the required database for the project.
All code should be well-documented with comments.
The program should run without significant errors.
Include a document called operation.docxthat describes how to operate the application.
This document should provide sufficient information to allow the instructor to set up and operate the application.
Identify any external system requirements
Key parts of the application should be identified (i.e., tell the instructor where to find the important parts of the application and changes that have been made since the last submission).
Include a section called STATUS with a summary of the current status of your project including work performed since the last submission, problems encountered and how they will be addressed. Be sure to contact your instructor if you need help addressing any issues.
ZIP all required project files and documents together and submit for grading.

The project deliverables are:

Title Page
Table of Contents
Test Plan
Write a section of your report to address the quality standards and goals to be achieved by the verification and validation process. The standards should define the level of quality required before the application is released into production and should be stated in measurable terms.
Prepare a test coverage matrix based on the requirements of your application you wrote previously. The test matrix should demonstrate that your tests will provide full coverage of the application.
Write a white box test plan to be used during the implementation phase of the project. The white box test plan should address some parts of the test matrix and should provide guidance to ensure the quality of the code meets the internal quality standards defined for the project. Test cases should accompany the white box test plan.
Write a black box test plan to be used for completed application modules and for functional testing after the application is functionally complete. The black box test plan should address parts of the test matrix and should include test cases.
Execute your test plans and provide results of your tests.

csc425 case 3

A title page with class number and name, project name, your name, and the date.
A description of a formal implementation methodology that would be best suited for a project like yours.
Discuss any similarities and differences between the formal methodology and the way you have been working through the project.
Provide a discussion of each of the development cycles for your project. The discussion should identify the work performed in each of the cycles, the problems encountered, and how the problems were addressed.
Describe how your project will be deployed.
The document should be 3 – 4 double-spaced pages excluding the title page and reference page (if included).
The document will be assessed based on your ability to adequately create an implementation plan for the project and describe the work done in the project.
